Fundraising question

If you were going to take a stall at fair/market/sale what would expect to pay and how many hours would that be for?

Trying to guage whether it's worth running a sale as a fundraiser as the potential venue is not free.

Gauge not guage!

I think it is £15 for two hours round here. You can go in early to set up, and stay later to pack away.
When I have done this, I sometimes got a table for free on condition I donated a decent raffle prize.

Whereabouts are you please? A colleague has proposed £15 for 3 hours and my concern is that it's not long enough to attract stall holders - typical charges are £15-20 for the whole day, i.e. five or six hours.

Depends what the fundraising is for and the type of event.

You may find a community group, with a common aim, putting on an even that would just welcome you.
Other than that - the bigger the even the higher the fee.

*event not even

We pay £30 for a stall at the local summer fayre in town. 12-4pm but you can set up from 10:30am.

The local schools charge £15 to have a stall at their Christmas fayres. 6-9pm.

We charged £10 for a 2 hour church bazaar

@Hecateh - I don't quite understand your first post: do you mean a community event might not have a charge for a stall?

Is anyone who had posted prepared to say roughly whereabouts they are? These things may differ depending on location. Setting up time definitely needs to be cobsidered.

Yes that's right. It depends on what you are raising funds for and the focus of the event. e.g. A pet show may allow a free stall to someone raising money for a cat shelter. Or a council organised event may have a few free spots for those raising money for a children's charity or Hospice or other local cause
