Can I find someone’s address without paying out for 192 address finder?

Just wondering.
Nothing dodgy, just trying to contact a relative but don’t want other family to know (surprise party) so can’t ask them.

Are they in the phone book (you can search it online for free?)

S021 · 18/09/2019 11:51

No. I’ve tried that. Only BT though so I assume they’re with a different provider or possibly don’t have a landline.

Thanks for suggestion though.

Looks like I will have to pay out £15 for 6 credits on 192 and I only want 1

Is it possible they run a company? If so it may be worth trying Companies House as they tend to have at least business and often home addresses on their data bases

Thank you. I have checked and no, they don’t x

Electoral register at the local library? I think it's free to access.

FeeFee832 · 18/09/2019 15:57

Pay for a credit check

MissDew · 18/09/2019 16:21

Use 118 118

S021 · 18/09/2019 16:24

Thanks for info about electoral role

118 will only give me a landline number

Phone up the landline number and ask them their address?

S021 · 18/09/2019 18:23

They don’t have a landline.

Do you have any clues as to where it is? (have you been before / know the area?)
Have a look on social media for clues? (or someone else who will knkw the address)
Call a family friend / second cousin etc and ask them to keep the secret, and if they know?
Come up with a different reason to ask directly?
Sneak a look in an address book?

Lucindainthesky · 18/09/2019 18:42

Take out a free trial with ancestry and you can access the electoral roll, I think only up to 2007 though so they'd have to be living in the same place

WhatHaveIFound · 18/09/2019 21:20

If your local library has a family history group they might offer free acess to Ancestry.com. (i honesty don't work for the library!)

MT2017 · 18/09/2019 23:04

Can you private FB message them?

MrsDimmond · 18/09/2019 23:10

Is there no one who knows them other than the person (or couple) you are surprising ...Confused

S021 · 19/09/2019 09:53

Thanks for advice.

I’ve arranged to visit at the weekend and hope to get hold of an address book
