Help me with a bucket/wish list of things for 5 - 10 year olds to do!

In the loooooong weeks of maternity leave before DD was born, I wrote a wish list of things I wanted to do with her when she was a toddler/preschooler e.g. visit beach/zoo/trampoline park, learn to ride a bike, strawberry picking, Christmas panto etc.

This might seem a bit daft but I do love a list, and I’m also terrible for getting stuck in a rut so having my little list to refer to for ideas on a free afternoon/weekend was really useful.

Now DD is at school and almost 5 (sob!) so I’d love to update my list with some fun/essential experiences for a primary school age child. Obviously she is developing her own interests and is more than capable of letting me know what they are, but she does love to try new things, and living where we do certain days out take a bit more planning. So, hit me with your ideas for activities to try, life skills I may otherwise forget to teach her Blush or anything else!

So far I’ve got visit a theme park (when she’s tall enough for most rides), try skateboarding, try ice skating, try climbing wall...

Isn’t a bucket list things you do before you die?

PurpleTreeFrog · 17/09/2019 13:03

@FamilyOfAliens Well, originally yes but I think now it's come to be used as a general term for 'experience wish list'.

I too thought this was going to be a terribly sad thread!

allpawsondeck · 17/09/2019 13:30

Sorry BusterGonad I actually hate the term bucket list, but I added bucket to the title at the last minute as I wasn’t sure if it was clear enough!

Thanks for all the ideas so far, they are perfect! Activities, days out, life skills, skills to master, it’s all good...

Oh and I can’t believe I forgot camping and learning to see (two of my favourite childhood activities) - should have added to my OP that I also have a terrible memory!
