It was an impulse buy as I just can't do Quorn . It's frozen. And I don't like potatoes helpful
Thank you.

Spag bol? Or chilli con carne type made with a tin of tomstoes, spice, mushrooms and kidney beans, served with rice

We buy the dehydrated version from Holland and Barrett and use it exactly like beef mince - fry some onion, carrot and celery, throw in some red lentils, add soya mince, garlic, tomatoes and herbs. I make it unvegan with Worcestershire sauce and cheese on top. It’s very good and the dcs also love it.

I fry a chopped onion then put spices and chillies and garlic in, couple of tins of tomatoes and a litre of onion gravy then two bags if soya mince and cook for 30 mins.

Then use it for Spaghetti Bolognese or Chilli con carne. Or stuffed marrow.

Oh I like the sound of the one with Worcestershire sauce and the spag bol too. I bet the dehydrated one is better value too.

£1.99 is enough for 10 generous portions, so yes, it’s very good value. Nice reheated as well. I prefer it to quorn - it doesn’t have that weird rubbery texture.

I use Holland and barratt dried soya mince. This is a favourite in our house.

I've used the dried version (textured vegetable protein TVP) in bolognese sauce and it's really tasty but I've found it gives me really bad wind and stomach pains.
A good alternative to meat mince in things like bolognese and shepherd's pie, is those sachets of pre cooked green or puy lentils.

What @PepeLePew says! You can also use it like normal mince and make lasagne.

With anything that has a lot of flavour - it tastes of nothing much on its own.
