What does your 1 year old sleep in?

Do you still dress them in babygrows to sleep in even if they are toddling?

Baby grows mainly and pj’s that fasten at the side with a little stud. He was in baby sleeping bag until June and I just bought a winter one today (12-18months) it’s looks cute and cosy.

OctopusNow · 14/09/2019 20:36

I did yes. Why not? They can toddle perfectly well in them.

You can get regular pyjamas if you'd prefer though.

Allyo19 · 14/09/2019 20:37

At the moment its a long sleeve vest and sleeping bag. When it cools down, it'll be pyjamas over the vest and sleeping bag.

My DS went into pajamas at 1. The only deciding factor was that they were so much easier to put on. He would wriggle everywhere when trying to put a sleepsuit on, it was such a battle.

Stillmonday · 14/09/2019 20:54

It's a battle getting my baby dressed no matter what he wears!

Where's the sleeping bag from @Allyo19

Normal pyjamas as he absolutely hates having his feet covered.

Makes me sad as I love a baby/toddler in a babygro. Grin

Allyo19 · 14/09/2019 21:12

Sleeping bag from Asda i think.

Shelby30 · 14/09/2019 21:25

Pyjamas from a year old, much easier. So it would be a vest, pyjamas and bed socks with a sleeping bag over the top. Long sleeved one if winter and no sleeves in summer.

Bodicea · 14/09/2019 21:30

Long sleeve vest and Pj bottom type pants.
Or baby grows.
Little tip: he gets his legs out of the babygrows easily now and they end up trailing on the floor. Started using all his soft elasticated summer shorts, that it's too cold in the day for now, over the top of the babygrows to sort of hold the legs in place. Works a treat and extends the use of the shorts that will be too big for him next year.
He co- sleeps so don't worry about a blanket.

Bodicea · 14/09/2019 21:31
  • too small for him!
LisaSimpsonsbff · 14/09/2019 21:32

We just switched our 14 month old to PJs, but like a pp solely because we find them easier/quicker to put on (he did not like lying still while the poppers were popped!) not because the actual babygrow was in any way uncomfortable or unsuitable for him.

Nc1737383 · 14/09/2019 21:33

H&M do cute feetless babygrow-esque pyjamas

Valkarie · 14/09/2019 21:42

Moved to pj's after walking as they seemed to find walking easier without the babygrow feet. Plus I hate all those poppers, so difficult to do up with a baby that is desperate to escape.

GlamGiraffe · 14/09/2019 21:44

My 2 year old still wears baby grows. She wears slippers. There are footless ones too. We have those in the warm weather.
Lots of our baby grows have the sticky bubbles on the feet. I think they change at a certain age. They seem so much comfier than pyjamas.

GrannySquares · 14/09/2019 21:53

My DS was still in babygros when he was 1.

blahblahblahblahhh · 14/09/2019 21:59

I kept my DS in babygrow until 2.5 years (John Lewis sell baby grows in size 2-3 years)!
Only because he used to get upset if his Pj top or trousers rode up in the night.

BertieBotts · 14/09/2019 22:43

Some sleepsuits, some pyjamas, some footless sleepsuits. It's a mixture :)

BertieBotts · 14/09/2019 22:45

Crawling is much more of an issue than walking because their legs get all bunched up inside IME.

Nc1737383 · 14/09/2019 23:12

Only because he used to get upset if his Pj top or trousers rode up in the night.

To be fair, so do I Wink

Omgitsaaliya · 15/09/2019 05:54
