Deep pan drawers: one handle or two?

We’ve never had deep pan drawers before but have planned some for our new kitchen.

If you have deep pan drawers, do you have one or two handles per drawer? I think one looks neater, but some of our drawers will be 100cm wide and if full may be too heavy to pull with just one handle?

Thanks in advance 😊

I have two of those drawers. Both are full of pots, glass lids etc. One handle is enough. They open easily with little effort. As long as the runners are good quality, there's no problem. I don't usually have both hands free to open the drawer while cooking anyway, so one handle in the middle is definitely better.

One horizontal handle.

That’s good to hear that one handle is enough for you both.

I’m looking to get cup handles.

I have two.
That said, they do run smoothly, though the one I keep dishes and side plates in is quite a bit heavier than the actual saucepan one is.

Handleless! I hate handles Envy

CakeNinja · 14/09/2019 18:43

That was meant to be a Grin face not a Envy face! Although the grease and grime that I always feel collect and gather on handles does make me feel a little Envy

Summergarden · 17/09/2019 20:59

Haha Cake Ninja.

Do you usually open your handleless drawers with one hand or do you need two?

no handle but a metal lip all across.

No handles and one hand to open

Bonkersblond · 17/09/2019 21:09

No handles here either and can open saucepan, plate drawers with one hand quite easily.

SpoonBlender · 17/09/2019 21:12

One handle - if you have two and try to use one hand, it's a bit of a sideways drag on a wide drawer. And you'll regularly be using one hand, with a pot in the other.

No handle : get the push buttons that you press to release. My dream would be one of those movement sensors that open your car boot on the base of cupboards to activate opening of cupboards/drawers.

Just a couple of fingers needed for the pan drawers!

SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 17/09/2019 21:31

I've got cup handles and I have two per drawer

Thrupennybrit · 17/09/2019 21:31

One handle on my 100cm drawers. As a PP pointed out pulling out without using 2 handles evenly means extra strain on the runners. Mine glide out and in, even though they are full of pans (or crockery or Pyrex). Mine are Hafele runners. How do the handleless ones avoid fingermarks?

timetodance · 17/09/2019 21:33

I have cup handles and have one in each! No problem whatsoever so long as you've got decent runners.

notso · 17/09/2019 21:41

Previous house one handle.
New house, handleless.

Never had a problem with either wet pan drawers, which are brilliant IMO.

However DH wanted handleless. I love the look of it but the finish is matt and it shows finger marks really badly,
we've got integrated appliances and I've broken so many nails opening the fridge, freezer and dishwasher Hmm
