Swapping smart phone for "dumb" phone.

Anyone done the above? I was a late adopter of a smart phone as I suspected I would get hooked, and I have. It's addictive and a major time theif and has made my natural forgetful and procrastination tendencies worse.
I'm planning to use the computer two or three times a day.
Any recommendations for a phone that is very basic but maybe with a capability to store Audible files and podcasts for when I'm doing boring chores.
I have an old slow iPad that's rubbish for browsing so I suppose I could use that for downloading podcasts etc.
Any ideas?

ooh watching with interest - am a total phone addict!

I've been considering doing this too. I spend far too much time on mine as well. I rarely use it for texting or phoning nowadays but find it's just far too easy to browse and check emails constantly.
I tend to use Whatsapp with DH and friends. I also like it for Play music and You tube but they are not essential.

So much stuff is online now but I'd really like to take a step back and disengage for a while.

I've tried setting myself time limits but still constantly give in to a sneaky peaky and waste more valuable time on it.

The only thing really stopping me from ditching it is the camera. I love taking pictures not of myself( yuck to selfie mode) but of my family, pets, scenery etc and my old camera has not nearly such good picture quality as my phone.

Following this thread with interest :)

I honestly don’t see how it’s possible though. i use my phone for the camera, making lists, music, satnav, banking - so many things!! It would be very hard to give up.

One thing that has helped a bit is leaving it at home or in the car.

Getting rid of the smartphone because you cannot cope with the temptation seems to me a bit like banning all alcohol because you are tempted to drink, or short skirts because men might be tempted, etc.

Switch it off. Or get one of those controlling apps, that switches things of for you.
DH still uses an old NOKIA, they are almost undestroyable (if you don't drown it in apple juice)
