Please recommend a dinner set

Sorry, boring I know but I'm having a new kitchen and would like to update my mismatch of plates and bowls.
When we married we got a Denby set which was great quality and lasted well but over the years various pieces have broken and we've replaced with cheaper ones (mainly from Sainsburys). They haven't been as robust.
Can anyone recommend a good quality alternative? I'd love it not to break the bank but I realise you get what you pay for...

Wedgewood white or another of their all white ranges. Gio/Geo is another set.

We bought a Villeroy and Boch china dinner set for 8 about 19/20 years ago. We’ve added to it over the years (mainly with factory seconds which look perfect to me) so we can now do a three course dinner for 18 people with it. It’s been through the family mill and seen our DC grow from infant school to adults with all the partying and sleepovers that go along with a sociable family. So far we’ve only lost 2 side plates (and one of them I threw on the floor in anger - not my finest moment). It’s been discontinued now but we have enough of it to keep us going!

It wasn’t cheap - totting up everything we’ve bought it probably cost around £1200 or so but in terms of pence per use it has been incredible value.

Anything but Denby for me!
We have a couple of sets and use them for various things
on a daily basis we use PiP Studio
or Burleigh, we collected the blue and white, same shape cups / mugs / plates but all the blue and white patterns
For special dinners we use plain white plates, side plates, bowls and then PIP Studio serving dishes.

I am very fussy and love having the right cup or plate for my mood

I like the look of Denby but havent found them very durable -in this house anyway. Tiled floors do take their toll.

Im happy enough with Sainsburys sets. I chop and change for everyday stuff as we are hard on crockery.

Is anyone else bemused that the link above for Next dinner set is a sublink of womens coats and jackets . Although there is a nice Faux fur coat I hadnt noticed before - so thanks for that OP .

Ikea 365+ ist simple, Not expensive and has lasted for about 10 years so far. Easy to replace to if the odd thing breaks.

@miaCara Confused it's linking right for me, but is it ok now?

We had Sophie Conran Portmeirion dinner service for our wedding present 6 years ago. We use it everyday. It's timeless and really nice.

If you collect Tesco Clubcard points you can use them at the Denby online shop at 3 x the value of the clubcard points. You just have to pay about a fiver for delivery, but we've had a fair bit of stuff from them, basically for free

Thanks everyone. Had a busy day and only just checked back. I'll work my way through the suggestions. Thanks again!
