I’m going to go bald, aren’t I?

Baby is 2.5 months old and I’m LOSING HAIR LIKE CRAZY. Apparently this is perfectly normal, just the last lovely gift of pregnancy.

Please tell me it will stop soon? There is hair everywhere in the house. The hoover can’t cope!

Mines constantly falling out too. I went to the hairdressers and she was worried about me I was losing so much.
I was only 10 weeks PP at the time too (I was told it doesn't start til 4 months).

But my hair is ridiculously thick naturally, so I'm loving it because it's actually becoming quite tame.

I'm 17 weeks PP at the moment so can't tell you when it'll stop, but can confirm my friends with older babies still have full heads of hair Grin

When you are pregnant you don’t lose any hair, so now your body will shed 9 months of hair. All normal. You won’t be bald.

Its really normal. I was so upset last year when mine was falling out like mad.

This year I have lovely 5 inch long baby hair which has sprouted. Ha ha. Hopefully next year it will be a bit more uniform in length

It's called three month mange. Perfectly normal.

Baldilockss · 11/09/2019 09:50

“Three month mange” is quite the name!

I forgot about the regrowth! That’s going to be fun 😬

Logically I know I won’t go bald because there aren’t loads of bald mothers walking around, but it really does feel like it right now!

My son is nearly 17 months and I've only recently stopped malting like mad!

But the new hair that is growing looks ridiculous!

Missjoebloggs · 11/09/2019 10:05

I cried when I saw how much of mine was falling out! But now at 6 months post partum it seems to have settled and I’m not bald!

When I was a little girl, I was going through an ottoman filled with my mother's hoarded crap.

Clothes far too small for anyone, my old ballet shoes (too tiny for me then) and I came across a brown wig.

Mum had bought it after she had me as her hair loss was so bad.

When her hair grew back, she was too embarrassed to throw it away as it had cost a small fortune.

Yup. It's a thing. All you can do is take care of your general health and it will pass.
