How often do you bath your toddler DC?

DS is nearly 3. He has a bath every night. DH wants to make it every other - which I don't mind but think after nursery he should have one which would mean two in a row.

What do you do?

We bath the kids every 2/3 nights, unless they're full of sand, sunscreen, muck, etc.

Every other depending on what she’s been doing/is visibly dirty but not every day she’s at nursery

ThePolishWombat · 09/09/2019 18:08

We used to do every night because it just became a part of their bedtime routine.
They are 4 and almost 3 now, and get bathed every other day unless they are particularly dirty. Hair gets a good scrub a couple of times a week

Mine are bathed every night - I think it helps with the bedtime routine (temp increases in the bath then drops when then get out which is supposed to help sleep). Plus they always leave a tide mark so I think it’s probably not a bad thing.

We don’t really soap them though, other than hands and bottoms. Sometimes we use a bit of bubblewash.

Same here... sometimes longer 🤷‍♀️

InDubiousBattle · 09/09/2019 18:13

Generally every other night but over summer it was every night when they were covered in suncream etc.

Sweetooth92 · 09/09/2019 18:13

Daily for us.
He’s far too disgusting and covered in god knows what to go longer 😂
Fortunately he loves water so it isn’t an issue

alittlebitdemented · 09/09/2019 18:16

Every night because, frankly, I was bored to tears and it was something to do.

LL83 · 09/09/2019 18:18

Every other day unless particularly dirty. Nursery days may be more likely to be dirtier but I wouldn't bath them especially on that day if they didnt need it.

LemonYumYums · 09/09/2019 18:24

Every night, always, toddlers are pretty mucky people. Plus it was part of the settling down for the night routine and I sleep better after a bath so I guess they would too.

mummyrocks1 · 09/09/2019 18:25

Every 3 night unless they are super dirty

This. Every day. He's one of those sticky, sweaty, food wearing almost three year olds. Grin

Contraceptionismyfriend · 09/09/2019 18:26

I have a 3 year old and it's about twice a week unless specifically necessary

Bathing to much is not good.

howelllikethewind · 09/09/2019 18:27

Every night because it’s part of his routine

riotlady · 09/09/2019 18:29

Every other night, depending on dirt levels. Was more often in summer as she refused to wear a hat so nursery used to cover her hair in suncream xD

Cannyhandleit · 09/09/2019 18:29

2 & 4 year old everynight because they are dirty, feral beasts! Everyday I pick 4y up from nursery he is in the garden digging in the mud, it was raining today so he was a delightful mess!

luckygreeneyes · 09/09/2019 18:31

2/3 times a week unless actually dirty beyond what a face cloth can fix

99mTc · 09/09/2019 18:32

Every night during the summer and about five times a week in winter. Every other night during winter is fine imo but my kids just love a bath!

FragileMoose · 09/09/2019 18:32

Every night. Its part of their routine, they run round and get sweaty, messy, covered in food/felt tip/mud/etc. every day and I know personally I feel a bit yuck if I don't shower/bath everyday and I wouldn't want my kids to feel like that

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 09/09/2019 18:35

First dc, every night until she was 3. Was part of her bedtime routine.
Now 6 year old every 2/3 night and same with toddler.
Toddler does get scruffy but I honestly don’t have enough hours in the day to bath every night! It’s not a ten min job as she hates getting out so from start to finish it takes about 40 mins

nespressowoo · 09/09/2019 18:36

Thanks, all! He's actually not bad after nursery today so will give not bathing a whirl...
