Have posted this in Arts and Crafts too.

What do you actually need to have, from a legal perspective? I'm not talking big business, more thinking about selling craft items that I make for pleasure, probably no more than a couple of hundred quid a month. I am completely clueless, any advice for idiots beginners very gratefully received.

It depends what you're selling OP. "Craft items" could be anything.

If you're selling baby toys you need a safety check on them. Lighting is also tricky...but if you're talking pictures for the wall or ornaments, just go for it.

Etsy has some guidelines.

Its ornamental stuff, canvases, etc. I wondered if I needed to declare any earnings even though they would be tiny. And what if anything is needed legally in terms of registering a one person business. As I said, clueless!
Thanks
