a) Great invention which makes cleaning windows a joy and not a task to dread
Or
b) use it once item which is more effort than doing it without and then languishes in the cupboard until you can admit to yourself you've wasted the £40 you spent on it

I bought one and now the only thing I use it for is condensation removal.
And to remove water from the car windows before driving off.

Mine wasn't a posh one though. It was a novelty to begin with.

TowerRingInferno · 08/09/2019 14:34

Fantastic but I’ve since got a dehumidifier (as recommended on here) and rarely need to use it anymore

Only used it for condensation rather than window cleaning though.

Nospringchickendipper · 08/09/2019 15:15

Well worth the money.Makes cleaning windows a pleasure to do rather than a chore.

rockingthelook · 08/09/2019 19:50

I use mine to clean after showers (all tiled bathroom) and to remove condensation from my windows in the winter, love it!

Iwouldlikesomecake · 08/09/2019 19:51

We have one for the shower Grin

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 08/09/2019 19:52

we have one, but i only use it in the bathroom for the shower cubicle, it really does cut down on the damp in there.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 08/09/2019 19:55

B definitely. Bought it, used it once, sold it on Ebay. No good for big houses with a lot of windows, runs out too quickly, results not good enough to persevere with.

Allsloppy · 08/09/2019 19:56

a Grin

Great. Makes cleaning windows, mirrors and tile easy and quick. Love mine to bits.

Each2TheirOwn · 08/09/2019 20:06

Only used mine once on the windows but use it regularly on the shower screen 👍🏼

TreacherousPissFlap · 08/09/2019 20:32

Bought specifically for the shower where it works a treat, also use it to dry floors when the dickheads dogs are about and will cause smears.

Should really try it on windows TBH Grin

Mixed bag of opinions - we don't have a shower screen so maybe need to think again.

Thanks all.

hmm, interesting - I was hoping to get one of these specifically for windows, cleaning them outside - not condensation as that's not a problem here.

I had always heard very good things about them - but perhaps it depends on the brand? Karcher was the one I'd heard about.

I gather you wash them by hand normally and then vacuum up the streaks etc - so it just helps with the finishing/polishing side of it and makes it less streaky, but doesn't really change the actual cleaning bit, but I could have that wrong!

Cosmosgrowinmygarden · 09/09/2019 09:04

I’ve got one! Mine’s a Karcher and it’s fantastic for windows, I wouldn’t be without it now. And the charge is plenty for the inside of all my windows - four bedroom house with huge patio doors, front and back doors half glass too. I use a very damp cloth and Mr. Muscle window spray, then another damp cloth to rinse and the use the Karcher. Really quick. It’s one of those items I would definitely replace if it broke.

Alwaysfrank · 09/09/2019 09:12

The other thing I use mine for is sucking up melted water from inside the freezer when I'm defrosting. It's great for that! But then perhaps I'm the only person left without a frost free freezer?

Damntheman · 09/09/2019 11:47

I have one and it means my windows actually DO get washed now! before I had it, I couldn't face the chore. With the vac it takes me max three minutes to do a big window inside and out. I LOVE IT! Wouldn't want to make a return to old school window washing ever. Can't understand why anyone would not like them!

BlackberriesAndCream · 09/09/2019 11:52

What do you do that makes it so much faster? Do you not still have to wash it all with a cloth and spray first?

Damntheman · 09/09/2019 19:53

No it comes with a spray bottle attached to the type of wiper window cleaners use so you spray and you swish the wiper over it. Then vacuum. Takes no time at all and no scrubbing or trying to get the streaks out. It is WAY faster.

Intheupsidedown · 10/09/2019 08:40

I use the spray bottle with the soft brush to do a quick clean then vacuum. Works brilliantly to get the finger prints and smears out of windows and mirrors.

Mine doesn't get used enough because I cant be bothered to clean windows but when I do I find it's not a chore. Grin
