My strangely comforting love of stationery - anyone else a secret stationery geek??

I have just spent 30 minutes online coveting a new notebook - I can't decide between a rhodia or one of these atoma beauties

Quite excited by the concept off disc binding ...

Where does this love of notebooks / stationery come from? I certainly don't need any more. Is it some sort of anti-tech vibe, or nostalgia for my long ago student days, is it the simple pleasure of writing, or just the thought of lists and being in control. I have no idea but a new notebook can cheer me up no end ...

My DH meanwhile doesn't get it at all. So am i am my own with this or are there other secret stationery addicts out there? If you are, what's your can't live without notebook, pen, accessory, whatever and why???

I love stationery. I’m dyslexic, hated school.

I do think it is about being in control or playing post offices. I have a paid stamp for my bills which gives me great satisfaction.

Ooh, I'd love a paid stamp. Grin Playing anything shop related is great, I love self scan in Tescos too.

Yes, OP, Leuchtturm not only thin but scratchy.

Anyone else here feel uncomfortable looking at a page of their own writing if it's untidy? I have to close the book. Whereas I'm slightly hypnotised if I have a whole page of beautiful script to look at.

I had a nasty shock yesterday. Trotted off to the local Office World to buy some folders for work, and one of those multi-coloured BIC biros, only to find it's closed down!!Shock

Where do I go now?

I need want some slip files. Cardboard not plastic. Files that are sealed on two edges and open on two edges.
