Anyone use a water flosser?

What with one thing or another I haven't been to the dentist for five years. Today I went!

I saw the hygienist and quite honestly it was grim, it hurt and I want to avoid that again. This got me thinking about a water flosser. Are the any good?

I saw the dentist after the hygienist and I thankfully I didn't need any treatment, but the hygienist was brutal Grin

Yes and an electric toothbrush with a sensor so you're not brushing too hard. The waterpik thing is amazing, you'll get so much more out than using normal floss and it's quicker, easier and painless so you actually look forward to doing it rather than putting it off and then just not bothering. (Although I like flossing too but I understand most people don't).

Thanks @Bloomburger

I've just googled and I didn't realise there would be such a choice. Which one do you use?

Phillips Sonicare one. It's reduced to £39.99 on Amazon from £100. I use it sometimes with peroxyl in the water chamber rather than water to properly disinfect (bleach) between my teeth.

It's smaller than the ones with huge water chambers but I didn't like the idea of water sitting in a tank.
