You know you're probably a bit cat/dog/pet mad when....

You are leaving the house and turn around to wave bye and mouth 'I won't be long' to your cat sitting in the window.

On returning home said cat is in upstairs window and you wave at them again.

I know it's not just me Grin

Can't see anything in your post that I don't do. I even blow kisses.

MaidenMotherCrone · 04/09/2019 13:23

I'm not allowed to blow kisses, the cat doesn't like it.

YABVU

This is just normal pet mummy/daddy behaviour isn't it.

My dog sits in the window and waits for me to come home. I wave at her from several houses down the road (as soon as I can see her).
I also come into the house slowly saying "Where's my tiny little baby girl" as I peer slowly around the door. My front door is very close to my neighbours and we live in a cul-de-sac where sound bounces around very easily. I have no doubt that everyone on my street hears this.

WalkersAreNotTheOnlyCrisps · 04/09/2019 13:34

Yep, I actually tell my dog "I'll be two minutes!" and blow him a kiss when I go to the shop 😬

Umm....

Windydaysuponus · 04/09/2019 13:37

Watching old episodes of The Bill while tidying up yesterday. Ddog looked like she was also enjoying it..
I went to work leaving TV on so she didn't miss the end!!

Although when I walked into the living room this morning and saw that the fat one had unreasonably hoofed all his litter out the box and onto the floor I did incredulously howl "WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS?!" at them.

Gramgram · 04/09/2019 13:42

DH used to say goodbye to Cardi, our black cat,no longer with us when he left for work. If he failed to do so, Cardi would meow very loudly and would take ages to settle back down. Cardi would also welcome him back home again by running up the hall and waiting to trip DH up when he came through the door.

Nonstopbuttmachine · 04/09/2019 14:03

Windy 😂😂😂

Dcat1 likes to sprawl on the sunbed on my bedroom balcony every morning. I have a little ritual with her before I leave for work - hugs and kisses and lots of 'I love you Princess Fluffybum, be good, I'll be back soon 😘😘😘' etc. I've had a new neighbour recently move in and only realised yesterday she sits on the adjacent balcony drinking her morning coffee at the same time. She must think I'm a half-wit BlushGrin

Windydaysuponus · 04/09/2019 14:36

I used to watch TV from the sofa in the dining room.
Now I sit on a dining chair.
There is no space left.....

Windydaysuponus That made me laugh out loud!

MosquitoInAJamJar · 04/09/2019 17:05

I leave the radio on for my Dcats when I go to work so they won't feel lonely Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/09/2019 19:11

When your cat has its fleece on the windowsill so he can watch the street in comfort.

It’s personalised.

iklboo · 04/09/2019 19:15

Your cats have their own theme tune you sing when they come in.

rabbitsandrhubarb · 04/09/2019 19:23

DH (usually very staid) has a song that he sings to the dogs as he gets their breakfast chews - 'chew, chew, chew, lets all have a chew chew' sung to the tune of the conga whilst dancing round the kitchen island and into the larder...

1984isnow · 04/09/2019 19:31

Me and my dp talk to the cats (obvs) but then reply to each other as the cats, in their 'voices'.

Ohbuggerlugs · 04/09/2019 19:46

You are perfectly normal.
