Question about border checks and tariffs in event of no deal Brexit

Please could somebody explain to me or point me in the direction of the clearest article explaining what the impact will be?

I understand that we would fall back onto WTA tariffs, which each country has a schedule of (presumably we must have a schedule already? But I read that we were going to use current EU tariffs for a smooth transition somewhere and that we'd be cutting to zero tariffs for some products temporarily - is this right?)

I do understand that tariffs are different for different product lines and that obviously different countries import and export different products meaning there were be more impact in certain places.

What I don't fully understand is, for example, how much fresh produce costs us now to import from EU and what it will cost then. How much to export dairy products now and what it will be then etc.

I also know that there would need to be border checks to ensure products meet required standards. I guess that varies too by product and what the standards are? So that will influence the time it takes. Is there any more detail on this?

I assume we would be very much seeking a free trade deal with EU in future - are there many countries that trade regularly with partners on WTO terms or is this rare?

I don't mean to be obtuse but I'd be interested to know

I also understand that products retail at different prices etc etc so maybe it's difficult to say with certainty

Sorry - my example was bad - I know we are in a single market now with EU so I suppose tariff wise I'm referring to external countries with which we currently have trade deals as a member of EU
