Best face cream for dry Skin

Can anyone recommend a good face cream for dry skin? I have really dry skin on my nose and chin. No matter what moisturiser or facial oil I have used before putting on my foundation it still looks all flakey. Despite deflaking before putting on foundation 😱 I’ve also upped my multi vitamins & no change .. it’s really driving me nuts now .. Any suggestions?

Aldi lacura range is fabulous for dry skin, rich but not greasy or heavy

Ponds dry skin cream or E45.

Palmers coco butter is brilliant.

Aveeno cream
Occasional gentle facial scrub
Lots of water

And maybe try a tinted moisturiser rather than foundation?

I have this OP. My nose looks like it's been grated when I put foundation on!

I tried Nivea, Aveno, palmers etc and none worked. I drink loads of water and am not using body shop hemp, it smells like mould! Don't know how anyone can stand to use it!

The only thing that worked for me was to get the flakes off rather than moisturise them. Salicylic acid made all the diffference!

At night put a layer of Vaseline o dr your usual moisturiser/serum and it keep the moisture locked in without clogging pores.

I have super dry skin and have used so many lotions and potions recently, some ££££ some cheap and cheerful. The one I've found that actually works is the naturally radiant range from Superdrug. Their brightening balm, day/night creams and moisturiser with serum all used have made a huge difference to my skin. They were also on BOGOF recently.

Their oat and coconut range are fantastic too. My skin was awful but I saw a difference after the first use.

Also, drink lots of water. I forget sometimes and can tell the next day.

I'm currently using Simple Water Boost with The Ordinary Squalane over the top. So the water boost gives hydration which is then sealed in with the oil.

So so so cheap too!

Cerave is very good.

My biggest discovery this year is adding an essence to my skin care routine.

I use TBS cammomile balm with tepid water and a wash cloth.

Then Muiji essence or Lidl intensive serum
Then Blue Nivea or Lidl Classic Cream

If my skin is particularly dry I add avacado oil too,pat on after the last step.

Another recommendation for Aldi Lacura here. So cheap and definitely as good as anything I tried that's been multiple times the price. DH got some when he had some dry patches and said this will do, I tried it and been using it ever since.

Diprobase available from the chemist in a big pump dispenser. Couldn’t live without it. preparing a Brexit stockpile

amicissimma · 04/09/2019 11:14

I use Pond's cold cream (ignoring its claim to be a cleanser) in warm weather and Waitrose Baby Bottom Butter in winter. Otherwise I feel as if my face will crack.

Sammy867 · 04/09/2019 11:21

I have super dry skin (can’t wear makeup ever) and the one that works for me is cerave as it has hyaluronic acid in so seems to trap the moisture in a lot better. I’ve never had skin this nice before. I sometimes layer diprobase on top of it’s really cold and make sure I apply it to slightly damp skin.

Eucerin moisturiser. Brilliant.

Cindy55 · 04/09/2019 11:34

I have extremely dry skin, the only cream that helps to keep it hydrated is Dermalogica skin smoothing cream

hxhussain · 04/09/2019 11:38

The Body Shop Vitamin E moisturisers are brilliant especially the day cream. My face always used to look angry and flaky but since using it my face hasn't looked better.

DameSquashalot · 04/09/2019 16:59

I have also used Eucerin with great results.

Sassy31 · 04/09/2019 20:12
