Frankie and Benny's - what ages for kids 'Small Eaters' and 'Large Eaters'

Going for a meal next month at F&B and the host has asked us to pre order.

The kids menu is split into 'Small Eaters' and 'Large Eaters'.

Having never eaten at F&B, does anyone know what ages each section is suitable for? DCs are 5 and almost 8.

Do8s it not go by appetite rather than ages

trotesio · 01/09/2019 21:12

Well, yes - but I can't really be bothered to post what my DC eat in an average day Grin

If they eat a lot then order from the large eaters menu

BarbarAnna · 01/09/2019 21:15

I would order the 5yo small and the other large.

LaMarschallin · 01/09/2019 21:16

I would just put as aside: give yourself plenty of time.
My experience (and that of others I know) is that the service is S-L-O-W.

Make sure your children get something high calorie as they could be close to starvation by the time it arrives.

dementedpixie · 01/09/2019 21:18

Food is a bit crap too

trotesio · 01/09/2019 21:20

@LaMarschallin Grin I'll give them lunch first then and the F&B 'lunch' can be dinner

@dementedpixie I've heard mixed reviews. Quite a few negative. That's why we haven't ever opted to eat there by choice before. Our local restaurant seems to do well on Trip Advisor, so we'll see...

Excellent plan, trotesio.

(Stick a few energy bars in your handbag too)

trotesio · 01/09/2019 21:26

@LaMarschallin sleeping bags too, or is that overkill?

@trotesio

It's not overkill at all.
You may want to write a letter to their school(s) explaining their absence for a few days...

(Seriously: I've been twice in different parts of the country.
I must be on a very shallow learning curve.

Various friends and family have been in different parts etc and found the same.

Even my elder daughter and her friends - who thought an American-style diner was "like, the coolest thing, like, ever!"* - said she and her friends wouldn't go back.

On every occasion the service was like continental drift.)

*What can I tell you? They're young and impressionable...

DH took our 2 on Saturday (7 yo big eater, 5 yo small eater) & said the small one was perfect for both of them - they got a main, 2 sides, dessert & a drink for that.

Shudders don’t do it. Ranks with Toby Carvery on the shit food avoid register.

LaMarschallin · 01/09/2019 22:18

don’t do it

May be hard to get out of an event that someone else is hosting.

The energy bars are the way to go.
Possibly a Thermos of soup...
