Where do you like to go?

It's a long time ago since DD was that age, but I'd go places you want to go with people you want to go with rather than trying to do child friendly things- so for coffee, pub lunches, walks etc

Ricekrispie22 · 01/09/2019 19:24

At that age, anywhere you can take the pushchair, and possibly has baby changing facilities, although that’s not a necessity. She’s too young to need an adventure playground or kids menu! And she’s not going to be very aware of her surroundings - she’s most likely going to be snoozing!

Hmmmbop · 01/09/2019 19:26

Everywhere! Usually take a sling, but we go on long walks, museums, art galleries, national trust places, tourist towns, shopping, antiques fairs.

Your local soft play might have baby sensory try that out

Hmmmbop · 01/09/2019 19:48

Ours is happy as long as there is stuff or people to look at. Doesn't need to be baby specific. That comes later.

Spam88 · 01/09/2019 19:54

Yeah definitely just go places you like at the moment. You've got a few years of not being able to go anywhere that isn't child-centred ahead of you!

Deelish75 · 01/09/2019 19:58

Mainly adult focussed days out at that age, especially if they’re big sleepers.

Maybe a trip to a farm?

Morning/afternoon activities would be swimming or soft play.

InsertFunnyUsername · 01/09/2019 20:08

On nice days we would spend hours over the field/park just us and a blanket.

bubs80 · 01/09/2019 20:15

Fab , thanks for replies ! Do you manage full days out or just a few hours? My little one won't have a bottle of out and about with people around and struggles to nap for long if out and noisy so we tend to just pop out for an hour or so during his awake time. How do you guys manage naps and feeding for full day out?

CherryPlum · 01/09/2019 20:18

I don't remember doing any big days out when mine were babies. Too much hassle!

maras2 · 01/09/2019 20:26

Home is good.

Lazypuppy · 01/09/2019 20:28

@bubs80 naps were in the pushchair and/or car.
Feeding as normal, took the bottles we needed with us, and just fed as usual. At 6 months dd was eating some food as well.

We always just went where we wanted to go, 6 month old babies don't care where they are

bubs80 · 01/09/2019 20:33

Baby on 3 meals a day forgot to say . He is just so distracted with bottles can't get him to have them if out

bubs80 · 01/09/2019 20:34

@CherryPlum I agree just feel like I should make an effort to do a full day but it's tiring so il stay as I am:) baby happy having 1 hour or so out in between naps etc

Take advantage of being able to do things you like while they’re too small to care! I did a lot of pottering round shops and museums and lunches with friends at that age.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 01/09/2019 22:24

Make the most of it

Galleries, museums, cinema (if you think your baby will settle), shopping

All changes soon 😁

bubs80 · 01/09/2019 22:58

We currently do baby massage , baby yoga , baby cinema , lunch with friends, walk around water park, park, supermarket, on a bus into town, car journey to local retail park or town. Floor play at home.

Just not whole day out 1-2 hours

Don't put so much effort in! I mean it in a nice way. So nice things, baby will respond to you being in a good mood, they don't really need much stimulation beyond watching and learning.

Baby groups are all well and good if you enjoy them, but you don't need them. The bumpf makes out like you're neglectful if you don't do a million and ten things. Babies don't need much really!
