Cesarean wound re-opening

Hi all!
I am 19 days post Csec after failed induction, my scar was healing perfectly, community midwives were happy with how it was healing and I have now been discharged into health visitor care. My health visitor came out a few days ago but never looked at my scar as I said it was all fine and not sore. However yesterday following a walk of around 1.5 hours I decided to have a quick check of my scar to see how it looked, I then noticed that I had 2 small openings on my wound. One is very small and looks clean however the second is slightly bigger and has a bit of ooze coming out which has an odour. I managed to get an appointment with a practice nurse the same day, she had a look at it and said it appears superficial but there seems to be a little infection there. She applied a dressing and told me to have a look at it in 2/3 days to see if it’s still oozy. She said she didn’t want to give me antibiotics as I’m breast feeding but if it’s still oozing in 3 days to come back. I’m really concerned about it and wondered if anyone had experienced the same thing and if their wound and infection had healed in its own with only a dressing and no antibiotics.
TIA
xx

Check as advised for further oozing. If it hasn't improved go back.If you get a temperature go back.
And congratulations.

You'll be able to smell if it's infected. My first section was infected and a slight burst just antibiotics were needed. Second section burst more and needed packed and dressed until it healed.

You can have antibiotics whilst breast feeding I was prescribed two doses of them after my c section.

My c section scars got infections both times, the first worse than second but in both cases I had antibiotics and carried on breastfeeding. I don’t remember which antibiotics but it was not a penicillin one as I am allergic.

Good luck, I hope it sorts itself but if not don’t be afraid of getting treatment. And take it easy, avoid strenuous things for a while. Take care.

Just keep an eye on it. If you notice any changes, go straight back to the GP. Also take it easy. A long walk 19 days post c-section is probably not the best idea.

Thanks everyone, I wanted them to give me antibiotics because there was a smell coming from the ooze. I just wanted to get some insight from everyone else’s experiences because I thought it was strange they didn’t give me antibiotics if they had seen it was infected.
