Itchy post-sting: how long?

I accidentally trod on a honeybee last week and got stung on the arch of my foot close to the tendon that runs along the side.
Got the sting out, took antihistamines and applied ice (then ammonia).
It is still itching on and off during the day and night.
No swelling and no other reaction but the itching is infuriating.
Anyone know how long I can expect to keep scratching?
I'm taking antihistamines daily.

I had one on holiday a few weeks ago. It was itchy/stingy for a good long while, fine the next day, then weirdly itchy again the day after. I think it being in your foot is a factor as obviously you're walking on it etc.

I had what I think was a wasp sting (didn't see the insect but felt like a wasp sting) on the top of my foot a few weeks ago. It was itchy for at least two weeks after the sting. It doesn't itch now but I can still see a little red mark on the skin.

Ah thanks - it's good to know it's not just me that's any itchy freak Grin
It hasn't felt quite so bad today; I did go over it last night with a foot file.
