Are these bite marks (nursery)

Hi.

I'm pretty sure these are bite marks from another child. Just wondering if you think they are to?

I'm not annoyed if they are as DS does his fair share but they weren't mentioned to me

Looks like contact dermatitis from some irritation to me. Bite marks would also leave a bruise if they were bitten hard enough to still be red now. You’d also see clear tooth marks.

Sincerely, mother of two (former) biters. Wink

Camomila · 30/08/2019 19:49

Could be, though there's one little red spot
not connected to the rest of them which makes it look like it could a more general rash/allergic reaction type thing.

DS once came home with a big bite mark and no accident form, I asked him if he'd told the teacher and he said no. So I didn't really blame them as he doesn't often cry when he gets hurt.

A bite mark is more curved, like a small child's mouth. It looks like a rash.

Looks like a rash to me, what cute little chubby arms though Smile

meepmoop · 30/08/2019 20:18

Ah okay, tbh it doesn't look like a rash to me but it could well be. I've sent them an email anyway.

I've not complained just more of a pondering email. I did have a form for him biting someone so I was wondering if maybe he was bitten first. Not that it's an excuse it's just he's not normally a biter.

I'm intrigued mostly

It doesn't look like a human bite to me either they are normally more curved.

It looks like he has had a reaction to something.

georgialondon · 30/08/2019 20:59

Doesn't look like a bite to me

Allyo19 · 30/08/2019 21:02

Eliza ... how did you get them to stop (off topic - sorry)

ElizaPancakes · 30/08/2019 21:42

Honestly? I couldn’t. They only stopped as they got older.

It was my twins that were my biters, it was horrible. They’d bite each other, kids at nursery, me and DH....we did the ‘kind hands’ thing and read the book about ‘teeth are made for smiling’ (it’s a proper book but I can’t remember the name) but it genuinely just took time and vigilance. They possibly bit longer than other children because they had quite severe speech delay.

I think they were around 2 when they stopped? Certainly by the time their brother was born when they were 2 and a half they weren’t biting anymore.

Deadringer · 30/08/2019 21:51

They don't look like bite marks to me.

meepmoop · 30/08/2019 22:00

Oh no I may have made myself look silly. At least I didn't go in angry I suppose

meepmoop I assume your email was just enquiring if there was an incident? If it was you won’t have made yourself look silly Flowers

I worked in childcare for 7 years. There have a been a few times when children have been bitten while in my care without my knowledge and once while I had a child on my lap!

mamaraah · 31/08/2019 10:01

Not sure but they don't look angry enough to be bite marks
