Hello lovely people in my phone. I have a long drive to do tomorrow & thought it might be a good opportunity to try a podcast. Ok I've never listened to one before & have no clue where to find them, do I download one from some site? Can anyone recommend somewhere I can find some? I like true crime & biographies. Thanks

Serial is a must if you've never listened to a podcast before! There are loads of true crime ones too: Dirty John, Casefile, Criminal, They Walk Among Us.

My Dad Wrote a Porno is very funny.

Do you have Spotify? You can listen to most on there.

If you like true crime you could try serial which is a multi part podcast focussing on one case (this one you can download off their own website I think).

Casefile is also a really good true crime podcast that focuses on a single case per episode with the occasional multi parter - definitely my favourite true crime podcast.

You download them via a podcast app. iPhones have the Podcast app built in, not sure what Android have. You can download other podcast apps from store. I like Overcast for iPhone.

I've recently got into podcasts and listen via Apple Podcasts which is already on my iPhone. It's really easy and I hear the same thing with Android phones. You don't have to download them but can just listen.

I know the big American podcasts are popular but I really like UK ones as I feel I can relate to them more. The Big Travel Podcast is great and very inspirational for travel and they have some really interesting guests on - some really famous people and other people you might not have heard of but have great stories. The Allusionist with Helen Zaltzman is really witty and entertaining. The Hi Low is very popular - seems to be something of a gateway podcast for many female listeners (and presumably some males). Once you get into podcasts you will love them!

I have an odd reaction when something is recommended constantly, in that I then actively avoid it (like I’m being forced to like something).

However, I eventually succumbed to Serial, a mere 5 years late, and good lord it is BRILLIANT.

The old cliche of ‘couldn’t put it down’, or its audio equivalent. Bloody brilliant.

Just discovered "No Such Thing As A Fish" - the QI elves chatting around four chosen facts for the week. Over a hundred to catch up on ...

The Body on the Moor was fascinating:

Also the Teacher's Pet about a missing Australian woman. I think you can still get this, although I had heard it had been withdrawn to not prejudice and ongoing case.

I also like the Scummy Mummies and the Mumsnet AIBU pod, plus Radio 4 comedies and Fortunately with Fi and Jane.

There are lots of podcast apps, I use one called AntennaPod, not sure why I settled on that one. It gets podcasts via itunes and it's probably best to download when on wifi and then just stream them in your car.

I drive around for work so spend quite a lot of time listening to podcasts, I love them.
