Anyone else getting swarmed by massive spiders?

Is anyone else finding massive giant house spiders in their house everyday? Every night before bed I have to check my curtains and bedding because without fail I find one every single night. I never used to mind them too much but I'm getting more and more afraid of them now I'm constantly finding them.

Anyone know how I can prevent them coming in? Is there a product that anyone knows of that deters them?

The cat likes to catch flies but is no help at all with spiders.

Our little black moggy (Topsy RIP) used to lvoe spiders and let them crawl around the room, occasionally pulling a leg off then crunch what was left (shudder).

My friend in Ealing tells me she has had some massive spiders too. Of course this now mean s at the weekend I will be looking for them (whilst tidying up-again!).

We had a whopper on the wall by the stairs the other night. I have never seen one so huge. Then the bugger fell off the wall and onto the stairs so I had to hoover him or else none of us would have been able to go to bed.

Yes, we're in Herts and have had several whoppers. I'm also terrified of them.
We don't kill them though. DH was out the other day and I had to put a glass over one that ran towards me on the couch. I managed it, but almost died of fright.

They seem huge this year.

I'm in the north west and had our first whopper inside yesterday - on the back door frame when I went to put the dog to bed last night.
I'm sure there will be more, it's nearly September.

Ugh. I don't mind smaller spiders but not these.

Pmsl. My house is full of them, and my 3 children are currently trapped upstairs because theirs a mahoosive one on the staircase and they’re terrified. They don’t bother me at all (I pick them up with my hands) but I’m leaving it there and having a cup of coffee downstairs in peace 😂

I had a pest control company out last month for a wasps nest. I was asking him about the spiders as last September I had over 30 whoppers. He sold me a spray that is meant to deter them and also kill them when sprayed. It's called Digrain Insectaclear and you can get it on amazon. So far this season I've had a couple but interestingly not on the floor which I've sprayed - more on walls and furniture so they obviously hate it.
I've sprayed it pretty much everywhere in my house now in the hope it'll prevent them strolling around like they own the place.

Just found this beauty in the garage

gamer by coming in I think I assumed they live in the walls usually and come out from behind the radiators or up plug holes. There really isn't anywhere else they could hide in my house. Which I said once before on a thread and got told that wasn't possible, but honestly there isn't. The walls are all white and the floors are pale, I pull out cupboards regularly to sort through and vacuum under furniture often. Unless they're tucked away in the walls, they wouldn't be able to hide.

Now the garage is a different story...😱

I don't kill them btw. I have a sucker thing from Lakeland and take them outside in that.

Where they move into my garage instead.

Haven’t seen a spider in a long time. I have my patio doors open all the time as well. Maybe they’re just good at hiding.
