What presents would you like for the staff room?

My baby was born 7 weeks early and had IUGR so was very small he has been in the nicu for nearly 3 weeks. We're looking at getting discharged next week all being well.

The nurses have been amazing, every single one of them so I'm thinking of doing a care package for when we leave to say thankyou and something they can have in the staff room to share.

I'm thinking cake and biscuits but what else?? (Im very sleep deprived) What would you like??

Good tea and coffee, it’s usually rubbish stuff in staffroom! Plenty of biscuits not too fancy as nurses rushed off their feet and don’t get time to finish anything! My shift today was hard with no break and an hour late off duty! Fruit goes down well too

Yes to tea and coffee, also nice pens! We get through loads of pens and we have to pay for our own. Fruit baskets go down well too.

PS glad your baby is doing well Smile

We got given little tubes of hand cream as a present once. Perfect for how dry hands can get with frequent washing. And chocolates and biscuits always go down well!

Tea and coffee basket and maybe some nice cordials for those non hot drink drinkers...

ditavonteesed · 29/08/2019 07:46

Tea and coffee or hand cream as already mentioned are always greatly appreciated. However a nice card makes me the happiest.

EleanorLavish · 29/08/2019 08:42

Good tea and coffee and nice set of mugs.
We were once given a box with different types of face masks/hand treatments etc.
We need to prove we are providing good care in our revalidation and we use or cards that mention how fab we are so deffo do a card.
Congrats on your baby.

KnittingSister · 29/08/2019 08:45

Cards naming the staff, if possible what specific things they did well, for their revalidation files

Stapelberg · 29/08/2019 10:37

Good quality cofeeeeee!! Small picket size hand cream. Like some said, just a cheap packet of click-pens from asda!
A printed letter that can be copied into each nurse's revalidation folder.
Thank you for being so kind to overworked, exhausted nurses. It's people like you that make this job so rewarding. We'll done to you and your little one too.

I am a nurse in A&E

We always like to be named on a thank you card if possible 😊
As for gifts, a fruit basket is nice as it gives us the illusion of being healthy.

ClockworkNightingale · 29/08/2019 12:54

Genuinely, genuinely would prefer a personal thank-you card (or even a collective one that named me specifically) over any number of biscuits, hand lotions or free pens.

And nurses really love free pens, so that's saying something.
