Hi there!
I am putting together a Halloween themed gift basket for a little girl, she will be 18 months old by October so I am guessing edible sweets won’t be age appropriate for her. I need some ideas what other Halloween themed items would be suitable for her?
Thankyou
P.s. this is my first time posting here so if I haven’t posted in the correct place or haven’t done something correctly I’m sorry

It's August?

Sparklingbrook · 27/08/2019 23:18

I think at that age the best you can do is just put a pumpkin outfit on them if you really have to do anything. They won't appreciate a Halloween themed gift basket.

Irate comments about how Halloween is a disgraceful American import and the root of all evil in 3... 2... 1...

Themed cuddly toy- there were some good ones that vibrated when a cord was pulled in B&M last year.
Chocolate buttons
Halloween colouring and stubby crayons
Something that lights up or flashes?

homertonb · 27/08/2019 23:21

Personally I wouldn’t bother doing Halloween themed gifts when they’re only 18 months, also this thread seems a bit early lol

MorbidMuch · 27/08/2019 23:22

Meg and Mog books (perhaps with a cuddly toy?).
Satsumas with Sharpied pumpkin faces on?
A torch / lantern ?

Thankyou for all the comments!
I make gift baskets for any time of year/event/ occasion and sometimes just because you never really need a reason to give a gift to somebody and it's kind of what I do. Also the little girl isn't mine she is a friends and I have been asked to make this for her (as a surprise for bob the friend and the little girl).
Personally I love Halloween, October is my favourite month of the year. And for those of you saying it's too early to be thinking about Halloween should know I already have my Christmas presents sorted too in fact I have just finished wrapping one Christmas gift basket Smile

Hawkins Bazaar was my go-to shop when ds was little for stocking filler gifts, party gifts, etc.Smile

elQuintoConyo · 28/08/2019 00:21

Finger puppets.
Let her draw faces with Sharpe on satsumas.
Or a Halloween sticker book.

Thought I’d post this, as I always think of it with these kinds of threads:

I’m rising five” he said
“Not four” and the little coils of hair
Un-clicked themselves upon his head.
His spectacles, brimful of eyes to stare
At me and the meadow, reflected cones of light
Above his toffee-buckled cheeks. He’d been alive
Fifty-six months or perhaps a week more;
_Not four
But rising five.

Around him in the field, the cells of spring
Bubbled and doubled; buds unbuttoned; shoot
And stem shook out the creases from their frills,
And every tree was swilled with green.
It was the season after blossoming,
Before the forming of the fruit:
_Not May
But rising June.
___

And in the sky
The dust dissected the tangential light:
__Not day
But rising night;
__Not now
But rising soon.

The new buds push the old leaves from the bough.
We drop our youth behind us like a boy
Throwing away his toffee-wrappers. We never see the flower,
But only the fruit in the flower; never the fruit,
But only the rot in the fruit. We look for the marriage bed
In the baby’s cradle; we look for the grave in the bed;
___Not living
But rising dead.

WTF lol, it's August and I'm sweating my boobies off in the middle of a heatwave Grin
not best time to say I fucking hate Hallloween, load of begging bollox lol

Must be nice.....
At 18 months? Probably doesn't grasp concept of Trick or Treat, chocolate coated pickled onions maybe not the best Grin
Give a satsuma and be done with it. Or bag of chocolate buttons.

tenmum · 28/08/2019 00:41

But it's August 😔 ... not quite ready to leave summer yet

An outfit ?

tryingtobebetterallthetime · 28/08/2019 00:50

Being Canadian, Halloween has always been part of my life. I love seeing the children dressed up and so excited.

I remember my trick or treating days fondly. Running all over the neighborhood trying to find the family who were giving out those elusive candy apples. Oh, the rumors! I don't think we ever found one.

In those days, there were no fears that nasty people would tamper with Halloween treats.

18 months is kind of young, but there are some good suggestions here. At about that age my DGS was dressed up as a cat. His Mum used face painting to make whiskers etc. so some face paint might work

Also, a Halloween themed colouring book and big fat crayons. There are colouring books for very young children.

A Halloween sticker book might go down well.

Stuffed animals. A black cat is a Halloween symbol. as are bats. And of course witches. There are good witches. I have a stuffed kitchen witch from Salem Massachusetts hanging in my kitchen for good luck. Complete with wooden spoon for a broom

You could get a pumpkin themed little basket for trick or treating and pack things in it.

memaymamo · 28/08/2019 00:54

Can you be my friend? GrinI'm rubbish at gifts and fun gestures like this, I love people who do it!

Emilylouise0095 · 28/08/2019 01:05

Some really great ideas!! Thankyou all! And @memaymamo of course! Haha it's been kind of my dream to start my own business making and selling these just because I love making them and love gift giving I always find an excuse to make one! Smile

In case you have never heard of a kitchen witch. Love mine.

Emilylouise,I've just had a quick look - Hawkins has certainly expanded its stores since I used it many years ago, so check if there's a store near you? Otherwise, yes, you can buy online. We were living in Italy when I was using them.
It's definitely a shop worth bookmarkingSmile
