This is what I'm taking for a week away, am I mad, do I need to take more?

3 x bikinis
2x day sun dresses
3x evening dresses

That's it! One week in Zante, am I being frugal or barmy!

Obvs knickers, bras are on top of this but these are all the clothes that I'm taking.

Just come back from Zante. You won't need a cardigan in the evenings.

Surely your clothes will all be a bit sweaty and grim after a couple of wears if it is hot?
The reality is , if its beach/pool holiday , you are in a swimming costume all day , I would suggest a cover all , and or a pari of shorts and a couple of tee shirts

...and surely the resort is likely to have magic glittery things called taps - out of which water comes.

I got caught out by 12 hours of a storm in the Med when I was 17. I don't go anywhere in the world without a jumper and light waterproof since then! The rest of the holiday was gloriously sunny.

I tend to pack fairly light and wash if needed, but some marks like suncream will finish an outfit off until it's properly washed.

Userzzzzz · 28/08/2019 10:16

ragged I admire your ability to go light! I’d have cried if that’s all I had but I tend to overpack.

OP- something with shoulders would be sensible in case you get burnt or want to protect your shoulders while swimming. I won’t go away now without a rash vest but it depends how much time you’re in the water.

Off to a long haul destination in a few days. 2 week holiday. We have a rucksack each. Done it before. No problem. You really, really don't die if you have the same t-shirt in more than one holiday photo.

As it happens our accomodation has laundry facilities which will get used as there are several of us, but if not I could just......you know......wash stuff, in the sink.

raspberryk · 28/08/2019 10:53

I'd wear a different outfit each evening at least and washing on holiday isn't a holiday.

EmpressJewel · 28/08/2019 11:51

I think thats fine OP.

When I go on those types of holiday, I would take a couple more evening outfits, but am otherwise a light packer.

I spend most days in swimwear by the pool and evenings in lightweight bandeau dresses. I can rewear my dresses if needed as I'm only wearing them for 4-5 hours in the evening.

Sounds fine to me, we take the bare minimum and always pick accommodation with a washer. Evening outfits are alternated as we don't go to the same place every night and all stuff is washed before we leave for home
