Toy Room or not!

I have a choice of turning the living room into a living / dinner. Freeing up the existing dinning room or using the spare bedroom as a toy room.

Do kids actually play in toy rooms or do thry become big cupboards? .

Our playroom just became a dumping ground. Kids want to be in the body of the kirk in my experience.

Our kids always played in the play room. It was next to the living room so I could keep an eye on them. It had a TV, PlayStation and Xbox as well as their toys, books, table and a corner sofa so it had everything they wanted in. I think the room needs to be big enough to actually be played in, if it's a small room then I've seen them used like a big cupboard as you mentioned. The kids are older now so they tend to be in their bedrooms more on screens. 🙄 Playroom is now an office for us when we work at home and also has some gym equipment in....I preferred the play room !

My youngest is 2 eldest 8 so I have reservations about how much longer eldest will want to use it.

I'm hoping it will make bedtime easier if toys aren't in the bedrooms.

My DC are older than yours (eldest is 13) and they still use it, but it's become a different kind of room now. More about the Nintendo switch and some board games rather than toys.
