If you have a 6yo that goes to sleep by 7.30pm...

What do you do? Do you have any rules? No TV after a certain time? At least 3 hours outside every day? DD1 appears to be completely broken and I think it's too late to take her back to the shop!

Ds is 8 and he's in bed by 7 and asleep by 8 every night.
On school nights he reads whatever book he's reading at that time and on weekends he may watch a movie, although more often than not he still chooses to read.

I will say that he's a very early rider (unfortunately).
6/6.30 am is standard for him.

I think it depends on the child. My 6 year old sleeps 7-7 but my 3 year old has never needed as much sleep and dropped naps very early.

10pm to 11am?! Grin just get her up earlier then! If you get her up at 6:30am for 2 or 3 days on the trot, I'm sure she'll start to fall asleep earlier. Might take a few days, but should be ready just in time for school restarting! Treat it like jet lag...

Smidge I don't think I could cope with a few 6am starts Blush she's up earlier this week because we are at work so maybe it'll happen on its own... She has FOMO, not sure what she thinks me and dh are doing but she suspects us of having fun without her!

TV is definitely going. I didn't think it was a problem (they're not allowed any other screens due to horrible behaviour whenever they've used them) but I'm thinking it might be having more of an impact than I realised.

Eating a full tea?

All 3 of mine have had lights out 7pm until Around 8 years old. The get woken for school at 6.30 and all need sleep! When they were little they woke lots from midnight to 7 but slept through from 2.5 years old.... I don't think it's early at all. Small. Children do need more sleep. Than adults it's a fact. It is really hard in the holidays though, especially the summer hols as its so light and at the moment soooooo bloody hot!!!!

I have a 6 and 4 YO who are asleep by 7pm. No rules but they eat dinner at around 5pm and have a bath/ bedtime stories routine from 6.30pm. They wake at around 6am but we’re early risers so can live with that. I like having the evenings to myself!
