My son has been toilet trained for around 6 months. But over the past 6 ish weeks hes gone backwards hes having accidents several times a day. And theres only so much washing and drying I can do in one day. Hes having assments for autism.

The piss and nappy troll is usually all for putting them back in nappies and then talking about in in AIBU.

I prefer the extra washing personally.

Tookthewords · 25/08/2019 18:50

I'm not a troll.

No, not if he’s going to start school in September.

Wildorchidz · 25/08/2019 18:54

Have you taken him to the gp to check that he doesn’t have a urinary tract infection?

Apple23 · 25/08/2019 19:34

Has your routine changed with it being the Summer holidays? If so, reintroducing the daily routine might help.

maddiemookins16mum · 25/08/2019 19:37

YABU, get him checked out. It really should not be needed for a child of school age to be in nappies (which are what pull ups basically are).

Why are these twats allowed to roam unrestricted looking for pats on the back here?

I know the op, she is not a troll. Is it beyond your tiny, tiny minds that people really might have this situation in RL?

Raynedance · 25/08/2019 22:59

What the hell is a nappy troll?

Have you spoken with anyone, like others have mentioned, eg the GP, or can you contact a service like CAMHS if your child is being assessed? As they usually have toileting and incontinence services that can help in situations like these.

If he has been reliable for 6 months and then there’s been a sudden regression, like others have mentioned perhaps there is an impact from routine change (if he was in nursery/school before the summer hols), or otherwise some other change or issue having an impact. It would be good to explore that, again something like CAMHS may help (but I appreciate the support available varies so much by local authority).

The Contact a Family guide could be helpful, there are links for other orgs at the back of it too.

The main thing I think is to work with your child to understand what is going on, as best as possible, and try to avoid distress/stress - so for instance if they are becoming distressed by spoiling themselves, a pull up may be better for the time being. Also going back to the toilet training basics and seeing if that helps, eg regularly taking them to the toilet, reminding them to go and so on.

(Am ignoring troll discussions in case this is genuine!)

Evadeher

Go for it- already messaged MNHQ about your sad troll hunting. They can see all my name changes and my posting history for the last 16 years. If you have no clue about autism and expertise to offer, I suggest you STFU.

Flowerybunting · 25/08/2019 23:18

@Evadeher with your posting history for all of four days. Off you trot back to Reddit.

chickenyhead · 25/08/2019 23:22

Nice thread.

If you are genuine, is your DC drinking more?

My DC was totally dry until she developed type 1 diabetes at 3.5.

Go to GP please

Tookthewords · 26/08/2019 00:45

I'm quite sure he does not have an infection. But I will get it checked out.

His peadatrition does not really communicate. I mean I can phone and leave a message. But I cant see them getting back to me. Nothing to loose my calling though so I will do that.

But I do wounder if it's the possible autism side of things. So trying to think of positive encouragement for him.

@Tookthewords this is how we found out about my DDs chronic constipation- have a look at ERIC (amazing charity dealing with children’s wetting and poo issues) and see if it rings any bells.

MichaelMumsnet · 26/08/2019 08:02

Hi all. We don't allow troll hunting on the boards. If you have concerns, please report and we'll take a look. The OP has been around for years - so thanks to those who are offering help and advice

twinkletwinklelittlestar123 · 26/08/2019 09:20

YABU. Putting them back in a nappy will confuse them, they're clearly capable. Go to GP to rule out anything physical
