Exercising before work tips

During term time, I attend a HIIT exercise class immediately before work. However, I really struggle with feeling groomed before work. I only have around 20 minutes to get showered, dressed, make up on before I need to leave for work. I tend to end up with my hair in a bun and a face like a tomato. I usually catch sight of myself a few hours later and feel horrible!

I don't want to stop doing the class as I don't get much chance to workout at other times but it's really tempting so skip it in favour of walking into work feeling smart.

Any tips for other morning worker outers?

I take it you don’t have DC? 20 mins is fine!

Face like a tomato is temporary, exercise v good for the complexion!

Can you cycle to work instead? Or go to an earlier class? Or do you have the will power (I don’t!) to get out of bed early and do a HIIT from home off YouTube first?

I do the first but my work has showers. I straighten my fringe before I cycle and keep it out of the shower and tie the rest back.

No advice sorry OP but I misread your title as 'Exercising before work trips' and wondered why you felt you needed to look particularly toned when travelling with work Smile

I do have a toddler, the class is very close to my work and I have an hour commute so it goes:

5.50 get up
6.15 leave home
7.15 gym class
7.40 changing time
8.00 work

When I worked out before work I always had as cold a shower as I could to bring my body temperature back down after. Out of the shower, deodorant and moisturiser on. Then underwear. Then foundation/tinted moisturiser. Let that sink in while getting dressed. Then powder and eye make up followed by lip gloss. Plan to have some powder in your handbag for when you get to work so you can reapply if you've gone a bit shiny! For hair I would practise some updos. French plait can look smart.

Thanks, that's what I'm trying to nail. The showers are a standard luke warm which is annoying so I try to spend as little time in there as I can get away with!

I am terrible at hair as well so I need to get better. I'm not too bad at a messy bun so I need to try some neater styles
