Legoland- help me plan the day

Hi

So we’ve got tickets to go to Legoland on Monday, including q-bot express. It looks like it’s going to be really hot (forecast is saying 29!)

I’ve been looking at the park map and getting quite overwhelmed. Can anyone give tips to help plan the day so we make the best of it? Only thing I’m thinking at the moment is wet rides after lunch (which ones are best?) followed by drench towers. Kids are 4, 4 and 7 with 2 adults, so we can’t do anything that requires 1 adult per child

Many thanks x

Bump...

Any recommendations for rides / attractions for 4 & 7 year olds?

Following as we are going the week after... hopefully someone knowledgeable will come along with some tips!

I think the roller coaster and the other faster rides are one adult to one child aren’t they? I went last year with my then 6 and 3 yo and really struggled to find stuff to go on. Easier if you’ve got 2 adults as you can go in stages though.

I hope you have a good day. There’s nothing on earth that would get me to go to Legoland on a sunny August bank holiday. It was bad enough on a term time week day in May.

DS loved the driving when we went. There are age restrictions though so probably only for your older DC.

He also enjoyed the pirate show

There are 2 driving schools, one for 3-5 and one for 6-12

How tall is your 7 year old? If they’ve made it past 1.3m they can ride by themselves.

Hi, I'm local and we go a fair bit but obvs try to avoid sunny August days!

Look up exactly what your Qbot entitles you to and plan around that.

Also download the app, it's so useful and tells you ride queue times, what's open and what's closed (v annoyingly rides are often closed these days). If you download it now you should be able to take a look at it over the next day or so and see how the queue times vary through the day.

I think you can also get through the first gates half an hour before the park officially opens - so if you aim to get there at 9 you'll have time to park, queue for the security bag check and get through the gates at 9.30 (assuming it opens at 10). You can't get to the rides before it's officially open but you can get closer at least.

The splash park is a godsend on sunny days - the water stays quite cool though so keep an eye out for the children staying in too long and getting too cold.

Oh and book parking online in advance if you haven't already, to save queuing to pay for that too on the day.

Enjoy Smile

Top tips...
As you get into the car park, suddenly flung open the doors and find the nearest drain. Empty your pockets of all money directly into it but withhold £10 to pay for your car park ticket and then drive off.

Sorry.
Serious tip - get the Q Bots if you want to get on a lot of rides.

We went yesterday and it was boiling! My kids younger but advice I would give, if possible is go against the grain and do Drench Towers earlier rather than later - walked past it at midday and empty, we went to it about 3.30pm and it was rammed with queue round the block to get in. Nightmare!
Have lunch watching the puppet show in the Duplo Theatre (if kids into that sort of thing) - it’s got a canopy to keep the sun off you!

The actual old fashioned Lego model village is the only interesting thing about the place.

The rest of it is hour long queues for 60 second rides and footpaths that wend themselves round constant cafes and costa kiosks.

The water rapids ride make sure you keep your arms in front of you, the bumps can be actually bruising and will knock a kid under 10 for six.

Prepare for nothing under £5 (Legoland logo pencils for £5...)in the exit through gift shop moment. Expensive if you have more than one kid.

It looks nothing like the tv advert montage at all .

There really isn’t much Lego going on at all, it’s a theme park with rides.

If you want to do Ninjago or Haunted house head straight to them. They are not included with Qbots unless you get an add on (£5 pp for one or £8 for two).

I like pirate falls and you can all go on that at once. The only one rides that will be tricky with your ratio are the roller coasters.

I really like all the lego structures around and on the rides. The lego express has reopened and is nice to see the lego safari animals.

We enjoyed the lego 4D movie (about 20mins long). The pirate show is good too.

If your buying food try and go early it can get quite busy.

Have fun

Ninjago and the boat school ride get rammed, I’d get them out of the way first. The fire engine one also gets busy (no idea why, I think it’s shit but DC love it) that’s worth doing whilst you are near the boats.

The Q Bot will be worth its weight in gold, have a great day!

HuntIdeas · 25/08/2019 09:40

Thanks for all the tips

Those who have had q bots before, how does it work? Do you register for a ride and get given a time slot? What happens if you are late for the time slot, do you lose it? Thanks
