DH has just 'reminded' me we have his friends daughters christening on Sunday. He says he's told me before today, I say he hasn't.

Regardless, I now need a gift for a 5 month old baby girl by Sunday. Any recommendations?

My children aren't baptised so I don't know myself what gifts are yes and no.

Any help please?

Surely his friends means it’s his job to buy the gift.

A book of prayers, A vegetales DVD. The mick inpen/nick butterwoth bible stories are good. The playmobile Noahs are is good.

I love the clarks voucher...first shoes?

Years later I've just cleared the attic. Many, many boxed china plates, bowls, cups, none used all now 20 years old. I have no idea who bought them, have kept them because I would have felt awful getting rid...but just what do you do with them? Not used as babies, not wanted by two 20 year old boys!
TBF. That is the type of gift I would have bought too.

Now I would be less 'commemorative' and more practical. Premium bonds ( though is there a minimum purchase now?), a voucher

Our son was recently christened he is now the proud owner of about ten dinner sets. I would say vouchers are the best gifts

A nice money box is always a good gift. By which I mean one that’s suitable for any age and not childish. My DS has a Georg Jensen money box which is a nice design object to use and display even when you’re an adult.

I agree LeithWalk

Also agree about Premium Bonds being a good gift, but you have to buy £100 worth to start off (can then add in £10 units I think) so not realistic for most people.

I always buy books, personally I choose Christian books but there are lots of classics that would be appropriate too. I love the Dr Seuss "oh the places you'll go".
