Reading Festival ID??

DS16 has just realised that he doesn't have an ID card. He doesn't drink, so doesn't need ID to buy alcohol, but does he need to take his passport to show as age related id? I really don't want him to take it and risk losing it, but if needs be . . . .

Thank you

Don’t think they need it. DC is 17 and went last night, didn’t mention taking it - only has their student railcard.

Have you checked website?

He may need to produce ID to get in as it's for over 16's. Better to take it than risk not being allowed in.

Thanks Canyon - yes, I think we are going to have to take it. (Website isn't 100% clear - it implies that they do need it but immediately follows that by talking about alcohol purchases suggesting that is the reason for taking it.)

Send them with a photocopy.
No way mine would go with a passport (and they are sensible - have a bum bag surgically attached to their person).

Ive been going for years with my younger brother. Hes always been checked as he has always looked young. No way would i bring a passport, even if your son is trustworthy, other kids would most likely find it funny to take it or something. Rail card definitely.
