Best teachers you had

A teacher that stands out for me was my Year 2 teacher (in the late 70s)
I remember so much that I learned that year. I remember 3 of the books she read to us, (Little Wooden Horse, Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, A Gift from Winklesea) yet don't remember any other books read to us at primary school. I remember songs we learned (from Time and Tune on the Radio) I remember projects we did on The Dinosaurs and Holland and work we did before a trip to London Zoo. Poems I wrote. Scripture. Creative writing. Work I had put on the wall. Walking to the local library. (Only teacher we did that with)
There were teachers I had in the juniors who I would say were nicer than she was, but given how much she did with us and how much I learned, I think she must have put her heart and soul into her job.

The teachers I most remember were my maths teachers at secondary school - they were very inspiring and energetic, really made the subject interesting and really inspired my love of numbers.

Yes, Chas Campbell, my English master in the '70s - a carbon copy of the fictional 'Mr Chips'. Always wore a gown and mortar board, lay back in his chair with his feet up on the desk, bright china blue eyes, like two chips of enamel, twinkling away, chewing the end of his moustache and constantly disappearing into the stock cupboard for a swig from his whisky bottle! Lovely man who instilled a love of classic literature in me and I think of him fondly to this day. Plus he always gave me top marks for my essays!

Honestly none were that impressive really but probably my English literature teacher at sixth form. She knew her shit and was a feminist too.

Mrs Griffiths. English teacher, always found books for me and would quietly slip poetry books into my desk. I love poetry from the metaphysical to McGough thanks to her.

We had a Biology teacher at secondary who tested us regularly so she knew exactly what we knew and didn't. It worked well for me as I ended up knowing the subject thoroughly. She taught the subject well and interestingly.
My English teacher and history/sixth form form tutor I remember fondly as they were just interesting and likeable teachers.
