P.E. I absolutely hated it.

Didn't mind anything else quite so much.

unicorncupcake · 20/08/2019 23:01

Art because I can’t draw for toffee. DT because that combined having to draw really detailed things really neatly on massive sheets of A3 paper and then make the bloody thing that I’d drawn badly out of MDF. I used to do a deal with one of the boys in my class that I would do his French homework if he would make my DT projects for me. Worked very well for years Grin he also rewired a plug for me when we had to do that in physics and various other practical tasks through secondary school!
I also hated geography and each week in year 8 and 9 told my teacher I had a flute lesson (even though it was on a rotating timetable) and me and my other flute playing friend would skive off to the music room and play flute duets. The Head of Music didn’t seem to mind Grin and would sometimes pop his head round and offer us different pieces of music to practice or accompany us. I passed my geography exams in year 8/9 with flying colours despite skiving half the lessons and only got busted in my last ever parents evening with that teacher when he seriously told my mum that I was showing real potential In the subject but he understood that my music lessons were very important 🤦‍♀️😂 I’m now a music teacher and so is my other flute playing friend so it obviously didn’t do us any harm!

Maths. Dyscalclia meant it was excruciating.

I’m angry about it when I think back. Why the actual fuck did no one think... hang on, why is crosser getting 1/30 on maths tests... EVERY FUCKING TIME THERES A TEST?
But no, no one did and so I was tortured for years and years.

Camomila · 20/08/2019 23:13

English Lit - didn't dread it, just found it boring. Especially analysing poems. I love reading though!
DT - I was scared of the drills/saws, especially the big electrical one by the wall.

My favourites were RE, history, and chemistry/physics.

EmmiJay · 20/08/2019 23:16

Maths in yr 10 and 11. Got a D in my GCSE for it. Decided nope I'm going to crack this and retook it the following year. Ended up getting a B! Huzzah! Then tried it for an A-Level, ended with another B.

Now though, I hate working out anything number related ☺️

DramaAlpaca · 20/08/2019 23:16

I dreaded maths & PE.

I loved languages & humanities, and didn't mind the rest.

Motherofacat · 20/08/2019 23:18

PE- I was very self conscious and had a lot of obnoxious tears in my class.
Maths- i found it so boring

BrassicaBabe · 20/08/2019 23:21

Hmm, I think subjects I dreaded just came under the umbrella topic of "school " Hmm

squeakyboy · 20/08/2019 23:26

English - both the teacher and the texts were incredibly dull.

IdblowJonSnow · 20/08/2019 23:27

Almost everything other than English and RE. But maths was the worst. I just didn't get it. Got an E at school despite being in set 1!! Got a C at college.
My school days were pretty shite looking back.

kenandbarbie · 20/08/2019 23:32

Latin
PE

movingontosomethingnew · 20/08/2019 23:34

English and History - so so boring to me
Loved math and science.

Star801 · 20/08/2019 23:35

PE - hated everything about it
French - always struggled to get the hang of it so ended up in the lowest class where it was just kids messing about and we never actually got any work done

NeverSayFreelance · 20/08/2019 23:38

Maths - I was shite at it but luckily my teacher took pity on me and just let me do my best

Physics - loved the topics, hated the teacher

PE - actual torture

Home Economics - Psycho teachers and awful recipes

Lucked · 20/08/2019 23:43

Art (teacher was horrible to me)
Latin although I quite liked learning the whole
Amo, amas, amat but I could not make any sense of it.

Loved maths and physics - little puzzles to solve

LightDrizzle · 20/08/2019 23:47

Sewing
PE
Maths
In that order!

lastqueenofscotland · 20/08/2019 23:55

Art I was so terrible at it and made to feel humiliated by the teacher constantly

lastqueenofscotland · 20/08/2019 23:55

Oh and languages. They just did not click at all for me.

Ynci · 20/08/2019 23:59

French. Vile bully of a teacher.

LiveandBreathe · 21/08/2019 00:12

History. Not the subject, the teacher. He was so dull. I never learned what appeasement was. We were horrendous to him. He bought the headmaster in to observe. Don't know why he didn't chuck us all in detention.

Jsmith99 · 21/08/2019 00:25

PE. Standing around in a field in your knickers freezing your tits off in the rain. Horrible, sadistic teachers who thought it was funny to publicly humiliate non-sporty kids.

Art. A completely pointless waste of time.

I loved maths & physics because there were no grey areas, no bullshit and no subjective waffle. There was only one correct answer and if you calculated it and showed your working, the examiners had no option but to award full marks. I knew the A grades were in the bag before I opened the exam papers.

MoaningMinnie1 · 21/08/2019 00:27

LightDrizzle, I'd forgotten about PE and sewing! Only did sewing when I was little, embroidery etc. I hated it. Also hated games with a vengeance.
