What’re 7 year olds into these days?

My ds (7, summer born) has decided that he’d like to ‘like’ more grown up stuff, but isn’t really sure what. We’ve recently moved, he’s starting at a new school and I think he’s worried about fitting in. Anyone with a 7y/o who could point me in the right direction?

Do you mean toys? DS was 7 in May and is pretty into hexbugs, Harry Potter, minecraft, nerf. I feel like he spends most of his time playing Xbox or watching YouTube. In terms of things he enjoys doing its stuff like riding his bike, swimming, climbing, basically anything active.

I’m planning on getting him a Fitbit for xmas and I’m considering an Alexa for his bedroom as he’s recently started getting into music.

My 7 year old (DD) is into Pokemon trading cards (all the kids trade at break time), minecraft, super mario, Lego, science kits, snap circuits and older type board games (monopoly, andor, catan etc)

Sport wise, bike, climbing, swimming, running.

Oh and she's just started learning an instrument and being interested in music.

My 7yo loves Horrible Histories. He watches every episode, he’s seen the new film this summer and he got a subscription to the magazine for his birthday. The books are a little too advanced for his reading level, but I’m sure he’ll be into them soon.
We’re reading David Walliams books at bedtime, which he loves, and he also enjoys listening to Roald Dahl audio books in the car.
When he goes round his friends’ they play Scaletrix or Hot Wheels.
On holiday this summer, we taught him how to play Top Trumps and he’s bought a few sets with pocket money.
He’s going to start Cubs soon.

My 7 year old likes current music, watching YouTube, Minecraft, Roblox, making slime.

But she's also outside as much as she can be on her bike, scooter, trampoline, dancing, gymnastics. She'd be outside in the pouring rain if I would allow it! She loves imaginary play with her friends (mums & dad's, teachers, barbies etc).

SpongeBob SquarePants, Horrid Henry, Sam and Cat are her favourite programmes but she still loves watching Peppa Pig with my toddler.

My 7 year old DS v active/ sporty and is into

Football- playing, training, watching.... absolutely obsessed!
His scooter- likes going to local skatepark to ride it and I've booked him some lessons cos he wants to do tricks
Cycling
Swimming and waterslides
Slime
Making paper aeroplanes
Lego building
Remote control cars
Playing minecraft
Baking cakes
Doing jobs - sounds weird but he loves hanging out with me and helping with cooking, cleaning, clothes washing... it's like I have a little shadow!

Similar to what others have said: football, minecraft, Roblox, Pokemon. He loves playing with Lego and also likes playing with his cars/hot wheels, he still plays with his superhero toys but less than he used to. He also loves riding his bike and doing ‘stunts’ e.g. dropping kerbs, standing on cross bar etc. All these things also seem popular with his friends.

Lego and Minecraft here. And a really irritating youtuber called Unspeakable Gaming. He mainly wants Unspeakable Gaming "merch" for his birthday next month.

DS isn't 7 yet, but is in the school year where they all turn 7 if they haven't already. Him and his pals (who are all already 7) are into:

Lego
Minecraft
Pokémon (trading cards, Switch/3DS games, anime series on Netflix)
Going out on their scooters/bikes (we live in an area where it's ok for children to play out from about the end of P2)
Football
Super Mario/Mario Kart
Hot Wheels to a lesser extend than a year ago
Junior Parkrun
Youtube (although DS doesn't do this at home because he's not as bothered about it as some of his other friends)

Glad to see Pokemon on so many lists, none of the kids in his class last year were into it and he’s pretty obsessed.

There’s lot for us to have a look at. Minecraft is something he has on the Switch, perhaps we’ll change his Pokemon over.

His new dilemma is what school bag to buy, honestly, I didn’t think this happened until preteen, not at 7!
