I am booking a weekend in London for the dds and I they are 6 and 9. They have requested London eye - fine and the rest they want to focus on London that's in books and films. Dd1 suggested British museum because we love night at the museum and I suggested St. Paul's for mart poppins. We love this idea more suggestions please 😀

Paddington station....fairly self explanatory!

Great idea btw!

Portobello Road! (Sadly there’s rarely that much dancing)

And agree, such a wonderful idea

Oh, and if they’re Harry Potter fans- Kings Cross and the Ministry of Magic entrance (just off Whitehall, the Trafalgar Square end)

PasDeGeeGees · 18/08/2019 22:33

Regent's Park and Primrose Hill are mentioned in 101 Dalmatians, listen out for the twilight bark.

So it’s the one from the 7th film- and it’s the corner of Whitehall Place and Scotland Place, opposite a pub called The Clarence. I work near here and frequently see tourists pretending to peer around the corner like Ron!

If she’s a big Harry Potter fan the walking tour is brilliant. The company is London Walks and the tours are pretty cheap (adults £10, think kids are cheaper) I did it years ago and frequently catch snatches of it on my lunch break Smile

Millenium Bridge was destroyed in HP and the half blood prince. And it was also in a Tylor Swift video.

My favourite book if you can get hold of it (try ebay) is Lone Pine London by Malcolm Saville. There's a map in the front of the book and you can approximately guess where things might be.
There is a book called "The London Eye Mystery"
Some of the Noel Streatfield books mention places. Try Ballet Shoes and Theatre Up (I think now called Theatre Shoes)

Films: For very dated comedy try "One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing" with the science museum.
Also there are bits of stations in the Narnia series films.

If you book to go up the walkie talkie- free, really great views on a clear day.

You can look down and see some of the Harry Potter locations (including leadenhall market/diagon alley)

Strawberry tours does a Harry Potter walking tour. It's free, you just tip what you think it's worth at the end. Leadenall market was where JK Rowling got her Harry Potter influences for diagon Alley.

Does Baker Street feature in the films as that's fairly close to the the places already listed.
