I’ve had a refund on my sausages

I bought sausages and bacon from Asda as part of my online shop.
They were part of the 2 for £4.00 offer.
The sausages were dated on the delivery day, so I complained and was refunded.
The original price for the sausages would have been £2.25 if bought separately, the bacon would have been £2.50.

How much would you have been expected to have refunded?

You should have got £2 refunded.

I got offered a freebie iced tea from Ocado which I selected but as it wasn't in stock they substituted it with another flavor and charged me £1😡 Obviously I sent it back, having only ordered it because it was free!

Did you get to keep the sausages tho? Just freeze them. Then you've got bacon and sausages for £2.11

Are your aware op that you can easily claim a full refund through the app for any missing /damaged/short dated products?

And I wouldn’t have bought a pack of bacon for £2.11, given the choice.

Which is the whole point, of course. You made the decision based on 2 items for £4. The fact that one of the items turned out to be not as described doesn’t mean that they get to charge you a higher price for the other one!

Yes, froze the sausages.
I know I did quite well really but was just a bit mystified by the £1.89!!

I would have expected £1.50 refund, but I would have either cooked (and then frozen) or frozen the sausages and not bothered with a refund.

FelicityMarbles · 18/08/2019 20:25

zackly ... exactly!!

So you were happy to pay £2 for the £2.50 worth if bacon but not an extra 11p? That makes no sense.

Crunchymum · 18/08/2019 20:41

You got a refund and kept the sausages. What is the problem?

leghairdontcare · 18/08/2019 20:47

(posting without looking)

£1.50

Hecateh · 18/08/2019 20:51

You should have got £2.00

You bought things to make a £4 offer, it wasn't your fault they cocked up.

leghairdontcare · 18/08/2019 20:53

I never would've guessed £1.89.

BlueCornsihPixie · 18/08/2019 20:58

I would have said 1.50

I don't really think you can complain, you've got a packet of sausages and bacon for 2.11.
