Best trip for 4 year old within easy access of London?

I want to do a one or two night trip with DD2 next May/June before she starts school. She will be 4.5 and I would like to get the train from London.

So far everything I think of I feel guilty that DD1 would feel like she would be missing out but maybe that’s a bit inevitable... It was easier taking her on a trip 3 years ago as an 18 month old had no idea!

Which side of London are you on? Or happy to take the train from whichever station?

Peppa Pig World and the New Forest?

The nearest station to Legoland is Windsor & Eton Central, which is just half an hour from Paddington. Windsor & Riverside, also nearby, is served by a direct service from Waterloo which takes just under an hour. A shuttle-bus service runs from stops outside both stations straight to the park, but you could also use Windsor Radio Cars for taxis between the park and both stations.

The nearest train station to Chessington World of Adventures is Chessington South. Regular services run from Waterloo, Clapham Junction and Wimbledon. From Chessington South, you can get to the theme park by foot (a 10 minute walk), bus or taxi. Directions to Chessington from the station couldn’t be simpler – turn right out of the station, then left at the end of the road.

Jojo I’m south but don’t mind travelling across.

Paultons, Chessington and Legoland all on the shortlist, thanks Ellmau and Rice!

Margate Dreamland ? Lovely sand beach there as well . .Its not that far out of London on a train . Hour or so on a train from Bromley South . I appreciate I don't know what part of South London you are in though.

We have been to Margate and it is lovely. I was thinking maybe Southend as a similar thing but have not been there for about 15 years. Has anyone been there with little ones? Or does Bournemouth have rides?

Haven't been to Southend for years either but Adventure Island is still up and running .
