At end of urination, deep sort of aching pain in bladder. Not seriously painful but not feeling normal. Could this be a UTI, with no other symptoms (ie no “burning” when actually urinating) and no increased frequency of urination literally all else is normal

I've never once had burning etc but ive had countless kidney infections.

Our local boots do a womens uti service, does your area?

questions3900 · 17/08/2019 23:13

@thecanyon sadly not :( defo would not warrant a trip to out of hours tomorrow so guess I will wait until Monday and try and book a GP appointment for later on in the week

Sounds like every uti I've had and a few have gone on to kidney infections.
My Dr's have a service where you take a sample in, fill in a little form and they call you back later to say if you need a prescription or not. So easy.

See if it clears up on it's own, if not Gp

EdithWeston · 17/08/2019 23:17

It could be a UTI or possibly interstitial cystitis (though you would usually get increased urgency and frequency with that)

Yes, I'd see a doctor

TheCanyon · 17/08/2019 23:19

Why wouldnt it warrant ooh? Urine infections can fuck your kidneys. I dunno, we dont use ooh here though so i dunno.

questions3900 · 17/08/2019 23:26

@Dilligaf81 if you don’t mind me asking, how long did it take roughly for you to go from my symptoms now to a kidney infection? Is it fast or will I be ok to wait and book a gp appointment... don’t want to be waisting people’s time but also don’t want to cause any problems for myself that are avoidable! X

questions3900 · 17/08/2019 23:27

@TheCanyon dunno really, I guess just because I am feeling alright in myself and still not suffering hugely I don’t want to be waisting NHS time for people who could be very unwell x

We have minor ailments facilities at pharmacies where I am where you can do a urine sample and the pharmacist can prescribe you antibiotics then and there. A lot faster than trying to get a doctor's appointments too (and in fact if you tell them you think it's a urine infection then they send you there anyway). Maybe just a Scottish thing though.

questions3900 · 17/08/2019 23:44

@Celebelly did some research but sadly this hasn’t been rolled out yet in the pharmacies in my area! :( sounds good though

Ah that's a bugger. I think Lloyd's Pharmacy have a UTI treatment service too.

questions3900 · 17/08/2019 23:53

@Celebelly just don’t know if it could be a uti? I have no burning while urinating, no urgency or increased frequency, no smell, only thing I have noticed is cloudy urine, but this has been on and off for the past couple of weeks

OP posts:
Elieza · 18/08/2019 00:03

It will probably get worse if you don’t get it treated.
The only other thing I’ve noticed that may be relevant is when my irritable bowel is playing up it can cause similar symptoms. I think the pee going down the exit tube from the bladder must make the tube bulge slightly and it presses on my bowel as it’s next to it, and it hurts. Similar pain
Defo doc next week. Hope you feel better soon. Flowers
