DS18- hair removal- how?

I just about never name change on MN, but on this occasion feel I should as, sadly, my DS has a 'friend' whose weird mum sort of stalked me on here, 2 years ago. I am a very long term MNetter!

Anyway, DS, 18, is developing a bit of a monobrow which he hates. He struggles with his appearance, despite having the strongest, most luxuriant, impressive hair in the family. We call it The Family Hairloom. Grin

His eyebrows are pretty conventional, tho they do extend down to the fleshy bit below (the bit your 18 year old DDs would have had fastidiously removed at least 3 years ago, on a monthly basis!) ; but he has an, as yet, blond, monobrow.

He wants it gone. Plus some 'shaping'.

Who, professionally, would do that for him? I could (and would), but in a small way, I sort of think that having 'mum do it in secret at home'- takes away from the: 'Nah, bit of me I wanna deal with, via appointment at an appropriate salon' that adult men have to deal with. Add to that, he has just really subtly hinted that he wants his undercarriage 'cleaned up'.

Now, this in no way upsets, shocks or anything else's me. Girls do it all the time. I remember my first 'encounter' with this, 20 years ago, abroad (not that that's relevant! But can't type the Antipppodeez in case stalker picks up...) where a toddler run around in a park, ended where one mum had to go pick up her DH from his back, crack and sack...! NO idea, til then! But I know now, and fully appreciate why any bloke might want to clear up hair from places he doesn't want it, just like many women.

So, my take away question is- bearing in mind we're currently just talking brows, what does he search to find somewhere where he won't be sitting in the middle of the local mall, getting threaded as his 'mates' stroll by?

And, drilling down, as it were .. Grin how does he search more 'intimate' waxing, should he choose to do it?

Download the Treatwell app, put in your location and look for men's waxing. Loads of salons offer it near me. Even men's Brazilians if that's what he's after!

What lightlover said. Lots of salons cater to men’s waxing needs.
It’s not that uncommon.

BlueSkiesLies · 17/08/2019 19:37

Just google men’s waxing + location

Just ring a regular beauty salon and ask. I’m a beauty therapist and have a lot of male clients.

Any salon will do it, doesn’t have to be specifically for men.
Threading or plucking is good to help shape a monobrow

I googled eyebrow shaping men near me and I got 4 suggestions. And I live very rurally. Go for it, op

Lots of sports clubs have beauty salons. Lots of men have treatments.

Thank you, everyone.

I am really happy that DS actually hinted about the other waxing he's considering- I don't know what he was expecting, but I do know he knows I stick tubes into people's rectums as part of my job, and have often mentioned the 'ass and elbow' thing, where we consider them both the same in terms of how we react, as HCPs. Thus hopefully understands that your undercarriage and your mono-brow carry the same cultural weight to many!

I get mine threaded, the lady who does mine said she has lots of blokes in. Threading is not as painful as waxing, it shapes the eyebrows and gives them a less bushy look too (which waxing can’t do).

Try one of the trendy barber shops or one of the Turkish barber shops. They often offer threading or manscaping.
