Please reassure me- terrible dental anxiety + holiday

Background: I have a terrible fear of dental pain, after having an abscess when I was a teenager.
I take very good care of my teeth as a consequence, and visit the dentist religiously for check ups etc.

I always think I have toothache in the lead up to a holiday (subconscious fear of not being able to access a dentist!).

However on this occasion it's real- I have a niggle in a tooth, visited the dentist on weds. She confirmed that there is some decay under an existing filling, and said it needs cleaning out and refilling. X-rayed- no obvious infection or root involvement. Very mild discomfort prior to this.

Booked for treatment in 2 weeks (when she returns from holiday).

I am now in full panic mode, terrified that this is going to progress to an abscess over the weekend, or when I'm away next week.
Total, clammy anxiety every time I feel a sensation in the tooth, convinced that it's getting worse.

Wwyd? Is it possible that the tooth will just continue to niggle but not progress to an abscess? Or would you try and get some kind of emergency treatment before you go? (At great expense!!).

I'm rubbish at making rational decisions about my teeth 😩

Wouldn't she have suggested more urgent treatment if she thought it necessary? I'm sure all will be well, use a good mouthwash in the meantime?

Go to Boots and buy a tube of Orajel and the strongest over the counter pain killers they will let you have. Pack a small tube of sensodyne toothpaste and corsodyl mouthwash. Then trot off and enjoy your holiday. Hopefully if you take an emergency kit with you, you won't need any of it.
