Extremely last minute DD has found a course she'd like to do after her GCSE results. She's applied and has been told to go there on results day to see if there's space for her.
I don't want her to go there, it would be 2 bus journeys to get there (75 mins all in if traffic is good each way) and there's a good secondary in the town we live in, she's been there since year 7. She could do a mixture of A-levels and Btech at school and still go for the career she's interested in. DD has applied for 6th form, has a place but would need to change her choices anyway.
She now says she doesn't want to go to 6th form.
Nothing seems to be putting her off this college-journey times and the need for a weekend job to help pay for the buses.
So the college is in the next door county, will our LA pay for her place there or not? I suspect the course is a popular one and presumably there are limited places, will priority be given to locals / those applying on time / those with the best grades?
