What’s the park south of Birmingham, maybe Worcestershire way that I think begins with an S?

Trying to recall the name of a park that looked great fun for a day out with the kids with lots of activities including a lake with boats. I know it’s south of Birmingham but can’t remember what it’s called but if you hit me with the name I’m sure I’ll recognise it. I know I saw pics last year on Facebook of people who had lovely days out there but I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called or who I know that went there 🙈 If you have any ideas of which park it might be please share. I really wanted to take the children there.

Cannon hill park? It has a nature centre next door

Tootired1 · 15/08/2019 08:47

No it’s not Cannon Hill Park. It’s a park that’s outside of Birmingham. I’m sure it’s South.

There's Sanders Park in Bromsgrove which is south of Bham but it doesn't have all of the activities you describe there.

LuluBellaBlue · 15/08/2019 08:54

Sutton Park?
It’s north of the city but gorgeous and huge - wild horses too ❤️

Twooter · 15/08/2019 08:56

There always used to be Ragley Hall, but that’s was closed down to the public last time I went😢

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 15/08/2019 08:59

Sutton was where I thought of, too.

@Twooter I was really surprised when I went to a wedding at Ragley Hall a few weeks ago and got told that it's closed to the public now. It's to increase attendance at events, according to the staff member we were chatting to.

Tootired1 · 15/08/2019 09:01

No. We live by Sutton Park and it is great and we use it a lot. It’s not Ragley either. It’s definitely south of Birmingham, maybe further south than I realised. So frustrating that I can’t remember the name.

We’ve been to Sandwell Valley, it’s not that one. Never been to Sanders but that isn’t the name. Thank you all for your suggestions. I do appreciate you trying to help me.

Tamworth

TigerDroveAgain · 15/08/2019 09:06

Spetchley?

Tootired1 · 15/08/2019 09:07

No, it’s not Tamworth either. It’s much further outside Birmingham but south.

Spetchley doesn’t ring a bell either.

Sheldon?

Tootired1 · 15/08/2019 09:20

I didn’t think it was St Nicholas but maybe it is. Will have a closer look. Do they have swan boats?

OP posts:
Tootired1 · 15/08/2019 09:20

It’s not Sheldon Country Park.

NoSquirrels · 15/08/2019 09:20

What kind of a Park is it - city, country park? What other activities does it have?

lekkerkroketje · 15/08/2019 09:20

trimtops, that's Upton Warren, opposite Webbs under the M5 radio masts. They've got an outdoor education centre and teach sailing etc. They used to run summer camps for kids.

lekkerkroketje · 15/08/2019 09:22

You're not think of Telford Town Park are you? They have swan boats, maze and epic adventure playgrounds and a weird fairly tale themed park

Tootired1 · 15/08/2019 09:22

I think it was more of a large city/town park. I know it had a boating lake with swans.
