What drinks bottle for 2year old

Hi,

I'm looking to replace my DS's munchkin 360 cups which have become pretty battered.

They seem a bit young for him now and they're not great to take out with us.

What type of drinks bottle should I transition him on to now? He does have a weighted straw one but looking for something different

Thank you

Sports cup?

meepmoop · 14/08/2019 21:40

I don't think he'll be able to work a sports cap just yet, I think a straw would be handy.
I quite like the klean kanteen ones but they don't seem to have a straw

Camelback eddy kids bottle, best bottle we’ve ever bought. Water tight easy for them to use but more grown up than others.

My two year olds use the nuby cup with straw and foldaway top, from Tescos I think. It holds loads of drink in too .

Bubbletrouble43 · 14/08/2019 22:08

Nuby incredible gulp it's called

We use this, works well, easy to use and no leaks

Where do you go that you have to take a drinks bottle for your child? The Sahara?

tootsiesandtopsies · 14/08/2019 22:18

I take a drinks bottle everywhere we go!

mnahmnah · 14/08/2019 22:19

Are you meant to find a shop and buy a drink every time your child needs a drink?! I take a bottle everywhere we go. I also use it in the house so they don’t spill using cups

Desmondo2016 · 14/08/2019 22:22

The Nike sports bottle, about £7 in sports direct. Perfect for my 2 year old, completely leak proof and don't need to be opened and closed.

meepmoop · 14/08/2019 22:24

@eddiemairswife erm everywhere, I always take a drink out for him.

@Motionoftheoceon do they have to bite the straw for the drink to come
out or do they just need to suck?

We have just got the munchkin 360 stainless steel cup for our 1 year old. It's great. Looks better and no handles, and keeps drinks cool for a long time.

eddiemairswife · 14/08/2019 22:29

We never felt we had to take drinks everywhere when I and my children were young.

Hmmmbop · 14/08/2019 22:59

We just used a systema twist top bottle since DS was 12 months. He could use it independently from around 18months.

Babypug · 14/08/2019 23:05

Camelbak all day long - got a few as we take them everywhere inside the home and out 🙌🏼

BizzzzyBee · 14/08/2019 23:33

I just ask for a glass of tap water in a cafe or restaurant. We don’t really drink between meals.

Ponoka7 · 15/08/2019 00:00

@BizzzzyBee, which is fine if you are eating in a cafe/restaurant. But if you are out past meal times and don't have cafe money, then you need to carry drinks with you.

We should be moving away from single use plastic.

FirstTimeToddlerMum · 15/08/2019 00:17

We use any sort of flip and sip type bottles with DS 17m , he quite likes the novelty of having to press buttons / flip something etc to get a straw to come out so drinks a bit more that way.

meepmoop · 15/08/2019 07:37

Thank you for your suggestions, lots for us to have a look at.

Hydro flask kids are great. Keep the water really cold too.

NannyR · 15/08/2019 09:15

I just use whatever sports bottle is available -with two older siblings there are always lots hanging around. She's been able to drink through a sports cap since she was around one.

sweetpea2811 · 15/08/2019 09:17

Kleen Kanteen have a sippy spout! My little one loves his, and I will replace it with a sports cap which you can buy separately and they recommend that from 3 years. It's great for going out and about as it doesn't leak. The only thing I don't like is how easily it dents, but then my 1 year old loves throwing it off his high chair!
