Have reluctantly agreed to provide brunch on Sunday..so want quick and easy ideas. Trouble is I’m hopeless at gauging portions.

Theres six of us , two strapping big eaters.
Have a recipe fir a nectarine and raspberry bread pudding so that’s desert sorted.
I was thinking an egg cheese and bacon traybake...sausages ? What else? Most of the guests are salad dodgers. I don’t want anything bread based as I’ve got that in the pudding. It will be sit down

Sorry that post sounded quite abrupt! All ideas would be gratefully received. I quite like cooking so not looking for ready made stuff but I’d prefer it to be quick as I don’t have a lot of time this Sunday

How about a big frittata of some sort? Maybe smoked salmon, or bacon and tomato? Easy to make in advance rather than faffing on the day

Good idea..instead of the egg and bacon thingy? Then I’d have a cold dish and a hot dish

I would do some pastries, crossiants and a crispy loaf of bread along with some slice fruit, and then thick cut bacon, jumbo sausage, eggs and mushrooms in a herb butter, all can be done in the oven or the night before and cooled quickly to be reheated. Eggs Benedict is nice as is smoked salmon with eggs. Morning breakfast tea and French press coffee and some different juices - - alcohol-- Dessert sounds nice but honestly not something I would eat early in the day I would prefer pastries . But ignore me as it sounds like your guest would enjoy food that is more filling and what they like is what is important here.

I normally chop mushrooms, chorizo, onions, chilli, tomato and green bell pepper. Sauté (or oven bake) until nicely cooked, add peri peri seasoning.

Then crack eggs to form a layer of sunny side up eggs - cook until the whites are set but yolk runny.

Serve family style buttered bread and slices of well cooked bacon.

Oh and a side of avocado ofc

AquaPris · 14/08/2019 19:52

You can pre-prep the base so it takes 10 mins on the day

I've had 4 people who hate cooking ask for the recipe so far

Sounds delicious! Thank you . That will go down really well
