What reasonably priced school shoes (that last more than 8 weeks) are you buying?

Don't have £50 per pair, looking for maybe 25/30 per pair that will last a while.

Do they exist 😩

I was really impressed with M&S shoes last year - they lasted each child the whole year which included my son playing football every single day in his (I am aware I’m lucky their feet don’t seem to grow!)

Startrite. They have a sale / last year's style page as well as their standard website. The boys shoes have a rubber bumper around them so they don't scuff at all. We had one pair that lasted the year. The soles were the first bit to go rather than the toes.

I second M&S shoes. Much better than the supermarket ones.

M&S. DDs were £28, lasted the entire year so we've bought the same pair again!

Check and see if you have a Clarks outlet within travelling distance, I got some from there for about your budget.

Oldraver · 13/08/2019 13:43

Clarks Outlet, never paid more than £22 and that was for the latest size3. All through Primary thye were £18-20.

I am not one of those 'it has to be Clarks' people but they have always lasted a full shool year for us.

OH took over buying shoes and got Kickers the last couple of years...they never last more than a term without having to be glued

Dr Martens - £25 in the sale. I've sized up and they're a little big so he'll start the year in last years DM boots until he grows which I expect will be about Christmas time.

The DM boots were £35 in the sale and have done the entire year, I've needed to replace the laces a handful of times.

ComfortablyGlum · 13/08/2019 14:19

M&S here - although my sons are now in adult sizes they still have M&S shoes for school. Youngest is autistic and can’t do laces but Marks do good quality adult leather Velcro shoes.

Brilliant quality and generally last the whole school year (barring growth spurts!). 13yr old is already an adult size 10!

Bodicea · 13/08/2019 14:46

My sons (reception age) primigi ones with the bumper toes lasted the entire year and he wears them tough. Yes they were close to the £50 mark but in terms of cost per wear they were a bargain.

ChocolateTea · 13/08/2019 14:49

M&S did my youngest good for 2 years running, 2 separate pairs .

Sports direct kangol shoes have done the eldest one for 4 years now, around 5 pairs. Seemingly indestructible
