Scratches on Cars

Sorry to keep asking car stuff on here, but I don't know anyone in real life that I can ask. My husband can drive but doesn't know how to top up screenwash.

I cannot avoid brambles getting in and out of our street and my car is getting a lot of small scratches. I know that I can use something like t-cut to get rid, but is there anything I can do to make my car more resistant to these scratches.

Any help would be appreciated.

@sackrifice lol it's not as bad at the moment. Moving not an option. And there are some good points, we have plenty of space and it's low cost.

Any scratches that you cant catch with a fingernail can be fairly easily fixed but it isnt cheap. As for preventing them you can get ceramic coatings which should help but wont stop scratches and again is expensive. If you're still parkinģ there its maybe not worth doing too much but a coat of polish can hide some of the damage.

Sell your car in and use the money to buy an old landrover. The more scratches they get the better they look. Then you'll never worry about it again

Cover of darkness and chop the brambles is honestly what most people would do. They’ll never know it was you!

@T0getherindreams I love the idea of a landrover, but I can't imagine my son would be immpressed at the lack of comfort on the school run lol

@NoSquirrels I can almost imagine it - sneaking out in an oversized hoodie with a badana across my face, spray painting the CCTV and then going at it with the secateurs!

You can get a plastic film that you can "stick" to your car it may be 3M car coating films. It's brilliant at preventing stone chips on bonnets of cars.

You can get it done by certain garages and the like, but it is also possible to get the coating yourself and with patience and a hairdryer apply it yourself in areas that are prone to damage.

I think diamondbrite, who do a professional ceramic coating, also do a home application pack. Might ge worth a Google.

@jazzandh @RainOrSun That's really helpful. I didn't know about that. Thank you!

Something I'd forgotten about is that you can get magnetic door strips. I think they are made of rubber, I dont know much about them but they will protect your car better than any of the other things suggested.

@Singletomingle Thank you! I'll have a look into that!
