Unwanted religious stuff

Am I over reacting here? I bought an expensive item off etsy for a relatives birthday.
Anyway it arrived pretty quick but the packaging was stuffed with pamphlets on the good news about Jesus.
Now don't get me wrong if this was a free item then fair enough. I'd just have ignored it but I paid a lot of money for this and expected a professional transaction here not enough religious paperwork to wall paper my house with.
I'm another religion not Christian and this has really pissed me off.

@Babdoc, that's pure rubbish.

I'm a Jew. I don't want to hear your "good news" about Jesus, because I don't and will never believe he is the messiah.

We live our faith in action, not believe it in silent isolation. We are expected to share the good news of God’s love and Christ’s redemption with our fellow humans, not keep it greedily to ourselves

This is quite frankly offensive.

I'm a Christian and also wouldn't like this this, it's just not respectful to other religions or those without faith

How strange.

I suppose i'd be ok with it if it was advertised on the page somewhere...like "10% of all sales go to X Christian Charity"
Or if it was clearly scrunched up and being used for padding/packaging.

But otherwise I think its rude tbh.

Assuming it's not just packaging, it's utterly unprofessional. Do you put religious garbage at the end of your work emails?

My first thought might tend towards 'eye roll' annoyance (and I am a Christian) but then thinking on it, if it was packed with say, info on...the Koran I'd think 'oh free reading material, might be interesting'. I like to learn about things :) so whatever the intent was behind it, it isn't harmful and you might learn something new.

I used to sell on Etsy and I'd pop in something like a little packet of Haribo as a thank you for an order occasionally - but nothing like that. I'd mention it on a review to be honest - seeing it on there would be enough for me to look for another seller if I was buying.

I’d post it back to the sender.
Without a stamp.
Wrapped round something heavy.
